The Houston Rockets have waived Sean Williams.

Williams was acquired from the Boston Celtics during July's Courtney Lee sign-and-trade.

Williams' salary for the 12-13 season would have become fully guaranteed had he not been waived before Aug. 30th.

The Miami Heat have expressed interest in Williams in the past and remain interested in signing a big.

The Spurs have waived Derrick Byars, a rookie forward who joined the team on April 25.

Byars averaged 5.0 points and 5.5 rebounds over the final two regular season games of last season.

With Byars off the board, the Spurs now have 14 players under contract, one below the NBA maximum.

The Rockets have waived Josh Harrellson.

Houston was at maximum offseason roster capacity and needed to create a slot to sign Carlos Delfino.

Harrellson was acquired in a trade from the Knicks.
