The Minnesota Timberwolves have re-assigned Malcolm Lee to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Timberwolves’ NBA Development League affiliate.

It is the second assignment for Lee this season.

Lee was first assigned to the Skyforce on Feb. 6, appearing in three games and averaging 9.7 points, 6.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 25.3 minutes.

The Warriors will sent Jeremy Tyler to the Dakota Wizards of the D-League.

Tyler has appeared in 14 games this season, averaging just 4.6 minutes in those contests.

The Reno Bighorns have acquired David Palmer from the available player pool.

To make room on the roster for the acquisition, the team has waived Damon Jones.

Palmer was most recently with the Bakersfield Jam.

Jones has averaged 1.6 points and 0.7 assists in seven games with the Bighorns this season.

The Memphis Grizzlies have assigned Josh Selby to the Reno Bighorns, the Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate.

This is the first assignment for Selby of his career. 

Selby (6-2, 183, Kansas) has appeared in 18 games for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 2.9 points and 1.4 assists on 39 percent shooting in 10.3 minutes.   

The Austin Toros have reacquired guard Carldell “Squeaky” Johnson.

Johnson returns to the team after appearing in 15 games for the New Orleans Hornets, averaging 1.8 points and 1.5 assists in 7.9 minutes.

The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced that the team has claimed forward Brian Hamilton off waivers. The active roster now stands at 11 players.

Hamilton holds NBA Development League career averages of 9.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in 156 games with the Utah Flash (135) and Los Angeles D-Fenders (21).

The Austin Toros have reacquired forward Eric Dawson.

Dawson will make the trip with the team to RGV for back to back games on Friday and Saturday at State Farm Arena in McAllen, Texas. Omar Reed was waived as a result.

Dawson’s history with the Toros dates back to his first D-League season in 2007-08.

The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced the assignment of Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Malcolm Lee. He becomes the fourth Timberwolves player assigned to the Skyforce in their NBA Development League history.

Lee, who underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 30, was acquired by the Wolves in a draft-day trade after being selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft. He averaged 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in three seasons (94 games) at UCLA. The 6-5, 200-pound guard earned both All-Pac-10 First Team and Pac-10 All-Defensive Team honors following his junior season.

The Bakersfield Jam announced today that they have acquired shooting guard/small forward Derrick Byars.

A first round selection (5th overall) by the Bakersfield Jam in the 2008 NBA Development League Draft, Byars played 49 games in the 2008-2009 season averaging 17.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. He returned two seasons later to the Jam in January 2011, where he played in 33 games and averaged 17.5 points and 5.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists.

Most recently, Byars participated in the Miami Heat’s 2011-12 training camp.

The Mad Ants have acquired Devan Downey from the available player pool and have waived point guard Tory Jackson due to an injury suffered this week in practice. 

Downey is a 5’9” point guard out of the University of South Carolina. He played overseas last season in Turkey, Croatia, and France. As a senior at South Carolina he averaged 22.5 points and 3.5 assists per game.
