Kevin Porter Jr. Reaches Plea Deal On Assault, Harassment Charges

Jan 23, 2024 1:41 PM

Kevin Porter Jr. reached a plea deal in a Manhattan court Tuesday in the case involving his former girlfriend and WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick.

Porter has agreed to reckless assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and harassment in the second degree, a violation.

"The resolution will allow Mr. Porter to put this incident, which involved false felony allegations and false facts, behind him with no criminal record and move forward," Porter's lawyers said in a statement.

Porter was arrested for an alleged attack on Gondrezick at the Millennium Hilton on Sept. 11 in New York.

Gondrezick told the New York Post in October that Porter "didn't hit me," saying allegations that he beat her were not true.

In October, Porter was traded by the Houston Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder and subsequently waived.

Josh Giddey Cleared As Police End Investigation

Jan 17, 2024 10:37 PM

Police in Newport Beach announced they have closed an investigation into allegations that Josh Giddey had an improper relationship with an underage girl and will not pursue charges.

"After a thorough and exhaustive examination, we have completed our investigation into information that was circulating on social media involving Josh Giddey," the statement read. "Our detectives have reviewed all of the available information and were unable to corroborate any criminal activity related to Mr. Giddey."

Adam Silver said in early December that the league office's investigation would "take a back seat" to the Newport Beach police's process.

"Generally, we will work with law enforcement to the extent they will share with us the information they have," Silver said during his Las Vegas news conference before the NBA's in-season tournament final. "We can learn from that. We gather whatever information is available to us, in working alongside a police department in this case, or a D.A. As long as they say that we are not interfering with their investigation, we do what we can at the same time. But generally, we fall in behind any investigation and then go from there."

Giddey has been routinely booed in road games since the allegations surfaced.

Draymond Green To Return To Warriors In Coming Days, Suspension Nearing End

Jan 4, 2024 2:36 PM

Draymond Green is expected to return to the Golden State Warriors in the coming days as he nears a return from his indefinite suspension.

Green was suspended indefinitely by the NBA on December 13th since he struck Jusuf Nurkic shortly after his return from his suspension following his choking of Rudy Gobert.

Green will miss his 11th game on Thursday and while there is still no return date set, his return is getting closer.

Green has been participating in individual counseling sessions and periodic virtual meetings that include team, league and union officials designed to chart his progress toward reinstatement.

Green is in Year 1 of a four-year, $100 million contract with the Warriors.
