The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to hire Mike Longabardi as head coach of the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League.

Longabardi has been an NBA assistant coach since 2003. Longabardi spent last season with the Atlanta Hawks.

Javon Freeman-Liberty has agreed to a Two-Way contract with the Toronto Raptors. 

In five Summer League games this season, Freeman-Liberty averaged 21.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 29.7 minutes. 

In 17 G League games last season with the Windy City Bulls, Freeman-Liberty averaged 18.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 30.2 minutes.

Freeman-Liberty went undrafted in 2022 out of DePaul.

The G League is moving its Showcase from Las Vegas to Orlando this December.

The annual Showcase had been in Las Vegas for the past several years. 

The NBA will host the Semifinals and Championship of its In-Season Tournament in Las Vegas on Thursday, December 7th and Saturday December 9th.

Ron Harper Jr. has agreed to a Two-Way deal with the Toronto Raptors.

Harper averaged 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 32.7 minutes over 29 games for Raptors 905 in the G League last season.

On a recent appearance with Burns & Gambo on Arizona Sports 98.7, Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia talked about the importance of the G League. He even teased a major announcement when asked by John Gambadoro about the Suns being the only NBA team without their own G League affilitate.

“That won’t be something you’ll be talking about in a week or two, how about that?” Ishbia replied to the question.

Ishbia later added, “We’re gonna continue to invest in our team. We’re gonna invest in our future. And a G League team is important.”

The Suns previously had a G League team, but former owner Robert Sarver chose to sell the Northern Arizona Suns, who were then relocated. The Portland Trail Blazers recently announced that the Rip City Remix will begin play this upcoming season. That leaves Phoenix as the only NBA team without their own G League affiliate.

The Denver Nuggets are bringing back Collin Gillespie on another two-way contract. Gillespie missed his rookie season due to a fractured right leg.

Denver is also signing Jay Huff to a two-way deal. Huff spent last season with the Washington Wizards on a two-way deal.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed guard Mike Miles Jr. to a two-way contract. Miles went undrafted out of TCU at the 2023 NBA Draft.

In four Las Vegas Summer League games, Miles has averaged 12.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 18 minutes per game.

The Boston Celtics and guard Jay Scrubb have agreed to a two-way contract. Scrubb finished last season on a two-way deal with the Orlando Magic.

In four Las Vegas Summer League games with Boston, Scrubb has averaged 16.5 points and 3.8 assists per game.

In 45 G League games with the Lakeland Magic last season Scrubb averaged 23.1 points and 5.5 rebounds.

The Indiana Pacers have signed Oscar Tshiebwe and Isaiah Wong to two-way contracts. Tshiebwe went undrafted at the 2023 NBA Draft, while Wong was selected by Indiana with the 55th pick.

Tshiebwe averaged 16.5 points and 13.7 rebounds per game in his senior season at Kentucky.

Wong averaged 16.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists as a senior at Miami.

The Portland Trail Blazers have re-signed Ibou Badji to a two-way contract. Badji spent last season on a two-way deal with Portland.

The 7-foot-1 Badji appeared in only seven G League games due to injury last season. In those seven games for the Wisconsin Herd (on a flex assignment due to Portland not having their own G League team last season), Badji averaged 7.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 17.6 minutes per game.
