Chandler Unhappy With Wallace's Comments

Dec 21, 2009 4:57 PM

Tyson Chandler wasn't happy with comments made by teammate Gerald Wallace following Charlotte's loss to Utah on Saturday night.

"The 4 and the 5 [positions] got eight rebounds," Wallace said after the loss. "Individually, we're not taking pride in defensive assignments. We're not taking pride in helping teammates."

Chandler responded with a season-high 14 rebounds on Sunday and fired back at Wallace.

"I think it's bull personally," he said. "When you lose and play like we do, you can't say that someone else is the problem. I don't feel like we're good enough to point fingers."

Wallace insists that he wasn't trying to single out any one teammate.

"That's y'all opinion," said Wallace. "My teammates know me, and they know I wouldn't single out a person on the team. That's not how I go. Anything I say to the media, I tell them. They know I'm not that type of person."

Bobcats Want Offense To Run Through Diaw

Dec 19, 2009 11:44 AM

The Bobcats want their offense to run through forward Boris Diaw more.

Diaw has been up-and-down this season and many feel as though he is the key to Charlotte's playoff hopes.

"He sees so much that sometimes he tries to have everybody thinking on the same page he is. Sometimes guys don't think as rapidly as he does," coach Larry Brown said of Diaw's recent turnovers. "For us to be successful, the ball has to go through him a lot - a lot more than it has been."

Brown also wants to see Diaw take open shots.

"He's got to shoot when he's open," Brown said. "You're every bit as selfish passing up a good shot as taking a bad shot."

Knicks Keeping Tabs On D.J. Augustin

Dec 15, 2009 7:25 AM

Bobcats guard D.J. Augustin has been in the doghouse of coach Larry Brown and the Knicks are reportedly keeping their eyes on him.

A team source told the New York Daily News that the Knicks had extensive talks with the Bobcats last season about a deal for Augustin.

"He was part of a bigger deal," the source said. "But I know the Knicks like him very much."

Brown doesn't like the way Augustin has defended, shot or distributed the basketball lately.

Another source added that Brown is opening to trading Augustin, but has been overruled by executive Michael Jordan.
