Tyrell Terry To Stay In 2020 NBA Draft

Jul 31, 2020 3:25 PM

Tyrell Terry will keep his name in the 2020 NBA draft and leave Stanford after his freshman season.

"After talking with those closest to me and careful consideration, I came to the conclusion that taking this next step is something that I'm ready for," Terry said. "I'm confident in my game and ready to compete at the highest level, against the best players in the world, and to learn from the best coaches in the world. I still plan on continuing my education and getting my degree from Stanford. But for now, I'm ready for this challenge."

Terry is the No. 44 prospect in the ESPN 100, though he is ranked No. 8 by The Ringer.

"It was a difficult decision for me considering the circumstances the world is going through right now," Terry said. "No one knows what the future holds with this global pandemic. But seeing how well the NBA has handled everything from the start, and with the bubble going well so far, that gave me confidence in my decision to put my trust in Adam Silver and the NBA leadership."

Teams Could Sell First Round Picks To Raise Money

Jul 27, 2020 3:48 PM

There could be NBA teams who explore selling their first round pick this year in order to raise money with league revenues significantly down for the 20-21 season.

"I suspect first-round picks will be for sale in this draft," one team executive said. "We haven't really seen that in a decade."

The Denver Nuggets were the last team to sell a first round pick as they sold the selection that became Rudy Gobert in 2013 to the Utah Jazz.

The 2020 draft is generally considered to be one of the weaker classes in recent memory.

Warriors To Prioritize Backup Point Guard In Offseason

Jul 16, 2020 1:33 PM

The Golden State Warriors will prioritize the backup point guard position this offseason, according to sources.

The Warriors lost Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston and Quinn Cook last offseason, which effectively eliminated their backup point guards behind Stephen Curry.

Draymond Green will continue to handle the ball and Andrew Wiggins will also initiate the offense.

Anthony Slater of The Athletic mentions Michael Carter-Williams as a potential target. Carter-Williams' game has often been compared to Livington with their length as a ballhandler and lack of perimeter shooting.

The Warriors could also target backup point guard via the draft with LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton and Killian Hayes all considered high level point guard prospects.
