Lauri Markkanen sustained a right elbow injury in practice on Thursday, Sept. 27.
Markkanen underwent an MRI today that showed a high grade lateral elbow sprain.
Markkanen is estimated to be out six-to-eight weeks.
DeMarcus Cousins is rehabbing his Achilles injury and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
“I’m stubborn as hell,” said Cousins. “I thought I knew that before, but I’m really starting to realize it now. My drive has only increased. I’m seriously like a madman right now.
“I think you guys will see a new DeMarcus on the floor. I can’t wait to get to that point just to show all the work I have put in.”
Cousins was asked what has helped most during his rehab and he replied with an on-brand statement.
“The haters," said Cousins. "That’s all I need. I feed off of it. I love it.”
The Warriors aren't ready to set a target date for his return.
“I know there’s a narrative that we’ll save DeMarcus for the playoffs, and that’s inaccurate,” general manager Bob Myers said. “When he can play, he’ll play. We won’t rush him, but we also won’t hold him back.”

Bogdan Bogdanovic exited Serbia’s 91-65 World Cup Qualifying victory over Estonia on Monday after experiencing left knee discomfort early in the first quarter. Further evaluation revealed a minor injury to his left knee.
On Monday, a minor arthroscopic procedure is scheduled at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, to be performed by Dr. Riley Williams.
Bogdanovic is expected to make a full recovery and an update will be provided when it is available.
Dion Waiters will miss training camp with the Miami Heat and is unlikely to be ready for the start of the season.
"Dion Waiters, who is currently rehabbing from foot surgery, will not be available when the team begins training camp on Sept. 25th and is also unlikely to be ready for the start of the regular season on Oct. 17th," Pat Riley said in a statement issued by the team. "Dion will not be returning to the court until the Heat medical team and training staff deem him healed, rehabbed and physically conditioned for all basketball activities."
Waiters underwent surgery on Jan. 23 to repair instability in the left ankle.
Waiters signed four-year, $52 million free-agent contract in July 2017.
The Philadelphia 76ers expect Zhaire Smith to return from his Jones fracture surgery around Christmas.
Smith underwent surgery on Aug. 9 to repair an acute Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
The typical recovery time is six to eight weeks but teams usually add two to three weeks for recovery time.
Smith suffered the injury Aug. 6 while participating in Tim Grgurich's development camp in Las Vegas.
Gordon Hayward is back to playing full-court, full-contact 5-on-5 basketball.
“I’m just excited to be out there,” Hayward told reporters Thursday. “It’s so much fun to be able to play again and play with my teammates."
Hayward said he's 100 percent and expects to play in Boston's season opener on Oct. 16th against the 76ers.
Hayward has played 5-on-5, full-court for two weeks.
“The past two weeks and the next probably month or so will be good to get back into the game and feel the rhythm, the timing and things like that," Hayward said.
Dewayne Dedmon, diagnosed with an avulsion fracture in his left ankle last week, has progressed and his walking boot has been removed.
Demonwill now enter a period of weight-bearing rehabilitation. Dedmon will be re-evaluated in two weeks, and his status will be updated as appropriate.
Russell Westbrook has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
Westbrook was feeling some stiffness in the last week.
Westbrook will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Devin Booker underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair an injury to the fifth metacarpophalangeal joint in his right hand.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Steven Shin at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Booker’s expected recovery time is approximately six weeks.
