Detroit Pistons rookie guard Cade Cunningham was named MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend. Cunningham helped lead Team Barry to the inaugural Rising Stars Challenge championship.

In the two-game tournament, the first set of games were each played to a 50-point target score. The final was then played to a 25-point target score. The 75-point total target was in honor of the NBA's 75th anniversary season.

In Team Barry's first game, Cunningham scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out six assists. He also added a steal and two blocks. In the championship, Cunningham added five points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal.

The new format featured three intense endings to each game. As teams closed in on the target score, there was an uncharacteristic amount of defense played in the exhibition games. All players involved seemed to enjoy the new format.

Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic headline ESPN's second straw poll of the 22-23 season for MVP.

Embiid, who had 45 first-place votes and finished with 789 total points, was the only player selected to all 100 ballots submitted. Jokic, meanwhile, finished with 43 first-place votes and had 754 points -- while being left off of five ballots completely.

Embiid and Jokic were followed by Giannis Antetokounmpo (512 points, nine first-place votes) in third, Stephen Curry(one first-place vote, 211 points) in fourth and Chris Paul(two first-place votes, 157 points) in fifth.

Ja Morant, DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic round out the top-9, while Devin Booker and Jimmy Butler are tied at 10th with one fifth piece vote apiece. 

Luka Doncic and DeMar DeRozan have been named the NBA's Players of the Week for Week 17.

Doncic averaged 43.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists as the Dallas Mavericks went 2-1.

DeRozan averaged 36.8 points and 5.5 rebounds as the Chicago Bulls went 3-1.

Brandon Ingram and Pascal Siakam have been named the NBA's Players of the Month for Week 16.

Ingram averaged 27.3 points, 9.3 assists and 1.7 steals as the New Orleans Pelicans went 3-1.

Siakam averaged 24.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game as the Toronto Raptors went 4.0.

Monty Williams and J.B. Bickerstaff have been named the NBA's Coaches of the Month for January.

Williams led the Phoenix Suns to a 13-1 record in January. Williams will serve as head coach of Team LeBron in the All-Star Game.

Bickerstaff led the Cleveland Cavaliers an 11-4 record in January. The Cavaliers currently have the fourth best record in the East.

Embiid averaged 34.0 points, 10.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists as the Philadelphia 76ers went 12-3.

Jokic averaged 26.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and 9.0 assists as the Denver Nuggets went 11-5.

Cade Cunningham and Josh Giddey have been named the Rookies of the Month for January.

Cunningham averaged 17.3 points, 5.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Detroit Pistons.

Giddey averaged 13.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game in January for the Oklahoma City Thunder.
