Celtics Sign LJ Peak On Partially Guaranteed Deal

LJ Peak has agreed upon a partially guaranteed deal with the Boston Celtics.

Peak will likely spend time with the Maine Red Claws of the G-League.

Peak went undrafted out of Georgetown. Peak played for the Houston Rockets in Summer League.

Rodney Purvis has agreed upon a partially guaranteed deal with the Orlando Magic.

Purvis' deal with the Magic provides a bonus if he is waived by the Magic and signs with their G-League affiliate.

Purvis went undrafted out of UConn in 2017.

Purvis played two games in Summer League with the Utah Jazz.

James Michael McAdoo Agrees To Two-Way Deal With 76ers

James Michael McAdoo has agreed upon a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Golden State Warriors declined to extend the qualifying offer to McAdoo in June.

McAdoo went undrafted out of North Carolina in 2014 and spent the past three seasons with the Warriors, appearing in 108 games.

Pacers Sign Alex Poythress To Two-Way Contract

The Indiana Pacers have signed Alex Poythress to a two-way contract.

Poythress spent the majority of the 16-17 season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, averaging 18.5 points and 7.1 rebounds.

Poythress also played six games for the Philadelphia 76ers to close out the season.

Magic Sign Adreian Payne To Two-Way Contract

The Orlando Magic have signed free agent forward Adreian Payne to a two-way contract.

Payne (6’10”, 237, 2/19/91) appeared in 18 games last season with Minnesota, averaging 3.5 ppg. and 1.8 rpg. in 7.5 minpg. He also spent time with the Erie BayHawks of the NBA G League.

Originally selected in the first round (15th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft by Atlanta, Payne has played in 102 career NBA regular season games (24 starts) with Atlanta and Minnesota, averaging 4.0 ppg. and 3.0 rpg. in 13.3 minpg. He has also spent time with Fort Wayne, Austin and Erie of the NBA G League.

Adetunji Adedipe Named Assistant GM Of Lakeland Magic

Adetunji Adedipe has been named Orlando Magic basketball operations/Lakeland Magic assistant general manager.

Adedipe is in his third season with the Orlando Magic organization. He began his career as a basketball operations assistant for the Erie BayHawks of the NBA G League during the 2014-15 season prior to joining IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. While at IMG, Adedipe coached the Ascenders junior varsity and assisted in NBA pre-draft workouts. During the summer of 2015, he interned with the Philadelphia 76ers in the basketball operations department. Adedipe joined the Orlando Magic in September of 2015 as a basketball operations associate and served as basketball operations coordinator with the Erie BayHawks in 2016-17.

Adedipe was a three-year letterman and former captain of the Ohio University men’s basketball team. The Bobcats advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2010 with a win over Georgetown. A native of Cleveland, Oh., Adedipe graduated from Ohio University in 2010 and received a master’s degree in comparative politics in 2012.

Georges Niang has signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Golden State Warriors.

Niang will likely play for the Santa Cruz Warriors of the G-League.

Niang appeared in 23 games last season for the Indiana Pacers as a rookie. Niang also averaged 19.0 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 33.0 minutes per game over six games in the G-League. Niang was a second round pick in 2016 out of Iowa State.

Lakeland Magic Hire Anthony Parker As GM, Stan Heath As Head Coach

The Lakeland Magic have hired Anthony Parker as general manager and Stan Heath as head coach.

Lakeland is the G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic.

“With Anthony (Parker) and Stan (Heath), we have established solid basketball leadership for our G League team in Lakeland,” said Jeff Weltman. “Having our G League team closely aligned and in unison with the parent club is vital to our success. Bringing Anthony and Stan on board to guide those operations and lead that group will be of great value to us.”

Parker has spent the last five seasons as a scout with the Orlando Magic. 

Heath has spent the last two seasons (2015-17) as an assistant coach at Boston College. He served as head coach at Kent State University, the University of Arkansas and the University of South Florida, compiling a record of 209-206 (.504) from 2001-14.

Bucks Hire Jordan Brady As Head Coach Of G League Affiliate

The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, named Jordan Brady as the team’s first head coach.

Brady brings substantial NBA minor league experience as a former player and assistant coach with multiple organizations. 

“The Wisconsin Herd is an important component in building a championship-caliber team in Milwaukee, and Jordan brings the grit, leadership and vision necessary to spark that process in Oshkosh,” said Wisconsin Herd General Manager Dave Dean. “Jordan has the right experience and tools to develop young talent and build the foundation for a successful NBA G League team. We are excited to have him at the helm for the Herd in our inaugural season.” 

Brady, 34, spent the 2016-17 season as an assistant coach for the Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz. He was previously an assistant coach with the Idaho Stampede (2015-16), where he was retained by the organization to assist with relocating the team to Salt Lake City in 2016.

Brady served as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles D-Fenders (2014-15) and an assistant for the Bakersfield Jam (2013-14) and the Iowa Energy (2012-13).
