Giannis Antetkounmpo will become eligible for a supermax contract extension next offseason, which will be a crossroads for both his career individually and the Milwaukee Bucks as a franchise.

Antetkounmpo vows to wait until the 2020 offseason to address

"I’m not going to talk about it a lot this season and I’m not going to try to address it,” said Antetkounmpo. 

The Bucks have already said they will offer Antetkounmpo the supermax and they subsequently received a fine by the NBA.

"I feel like if you have a great team, and our goal is to win a championship and be the last team standing and get better each day, I think it's disrespectful towards my teammates talking about my free agency and what I'm going through," Antetokounmpo said. "So, when the time is right, we're all gonna talk about it. I don't think the time is right."

The Portland Trail Blazers have signed forward Keljin Blevins to a training camp contract.

Blevins, 23, appeared in three games for the Trail Blazers during the 2019 NBA Summer League, totaling five points, three rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes. Undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft, Blevins (6-6, 200) played two seasons at The University of Southern Mississippi (2014-16) before transferring to Montana State. In his four-year collegiate career, Blevins posted averages of 7.6 points (39.9% FG, 23.4% 3-PT, 64.5% FT), 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 23.3 minutes in 117 games (99 starts). He averaged 11.8 points and 5.9 rebounds as a senior at Montana State in 2018-19.

JaMychal Green passed on more lucrative contract offers from several teams as a free agent and decided to re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Green started as a floor-stretching center against the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs following his midseason acquisition from the Memphis Grizzlies.

After he agreed to sign with the Clippers, Kawhi Leonard reached out to Green in an attempt to get him to re-sign.

The Oklahoma City Thunder has waived guard Markel Brown.

The Oklahoma State product was originally signed on Sept. 24.

The Orlando Magic have signed free agent guard B.J. Johnson.

Johnson (6’7”, 200, 12/21/95) played in seven games last season during his rookie campaign with both Atlanta and Sacramento, averaging 3.3 ppg. and 1.1 rpg. in 7.0 minpg. He also appeared in 39 games (32 starts) with Lakeland of the NBA G League, averaging 15.4 ppg., 5.1 rpg., 1.4 apg. and 1.41 stlpg. in 29.8 minpg., while shooting .444 (76-171) from three-point range and .841 (95-113) from the free throw line.

Johnson appeared in 56 career games (55 starts) in two seasons (2016-18) with La Salle University, averaging 19.1 ppg., 7.3 rpg. and 1.21 stlpg. in 33.8 minpg. During his senior campaign with the Explorers (2017-18), he played and started in 27 games, averaging 20.8 ppg., 8.3 rpg. and 1.30 stlpg. in 35.2 minpg., while shooting .869 (126-145) from the free throw line. Johnson was named Second Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference in 2017-18. He also played in 35 career games during two seasons (2013-15) at Syracuse University, averaging 3.4 ppg. and 2.5 rpg. in 12.0 minpg.

The Brooklyn Nets have signed Lance Thomas.

Thomas spent the past several seasons with the New York Knicks.

The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Haywood Highsmith. 

Highsmith recently competed in the 2019 NBA G League International Challenge presented by Antel in Montevideo, Uruguay, from Wednesday, Sept. 18-Sunday, Sept. 22. The six-team tournament also included Argentina’s San Lorenzo, Brazil’s Flamengo, Germany’s FC Bayern Munich, Mexico’s Capitanes and Uruguay’s Elite Team. The NBA G League Elite roster finished second in the competition.

Prior to his participation in the G League International Challenge, Highsmith represented the 76ers at MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2019, where he appeared in four games, starting one. He tallied 7.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per contest.

Ryan Anderson has agreed to a partially guaranteed deal with the Houston Rockets.

Anderson was traded by the Rockets to the Phoenix Suns last offseason in a salary dump.

Anderson finished last season with the Miami Heat.

The Brooklyn Nets have signed center John Egbunu.

Egbunu (6’11, 265) spent three seasons at the University of Florida (2015-18) after playing his freshman year at the University of South Florida (2013-14). As a sophomore and junior with the Gators, the Nigeria native appeared in 58 games (49 starts), averaging 10.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 24.0 minutes per contest. Egbunu did not compete at UF during his senior campaign due to a knee injury.

The Brooklyn Nets and CJ Williams have agreed to a non-guaranteed deal.

Williams emerged in 17-18 with the Los Angeles Clippers and played in 15 games last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Williams also played in 36 games in the G League last season.

Brooklyn has a need on the wing with Wilson Chandler suspended to start the season.
