Steve Kerr: Dillon Brooks 'Broke The Code' With 'Dirty' Foul On Gary Payton II

May 4, 2022 11:37 AM

Steve Kerr was sharply critical of the Flagrant Foul 2 committed by Dillon Brooks at the start of Game 2, which resulted in a fractured elbow for Gary Payton II.

"I don't know if it was intentional, but it was dirty," Kerr said after the game. "There is a code. This code that players follow where you never put a guy's season [or] career in jeopardy by taking somebody out in midair and clubbing him across the head, ultimately fracturing Gary's elbow ... He broke the code. Dillon Brooks broke the code."

When Brooks was ejected, Kerr could be heard yelling, "Get the f--- out of here, Brooks!"

The league is expected to speak with members of the Warriors and Grizzlies over the next few days to decide if Brooks will be suspended. The NBA suspended Grayson Allen one game for a Flagrant 2 he committed on Alex Caruso, which resulted in a broken wrist.
