Sixers Reassign Brackins To D-League

Philadelphia 76ers forward Craig Brackins was reassigned to the Springfield Armor, the 76ers’ NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced Thursday.  

The assignment marks the 49th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the third and final assignment this season for Brackins, a rookie out of Iowa State. Brackins (6-10, 230) was assigned on Nov. 30 and Jan. 15. He appeared in 14 games (nine starts) with the Armor, averaging 19.9 points and 9.1 rebounds in 37.2 minutes. Brackins has appeared in three games this season for Philadelphia, averaging 2.7 points in 11.0 minutes.

Nets Recall Ben Uzoh From D-League

The New Jersey Nets have recalled rookie point guard Ben Uzoh from the Springfield Armor, Nets General Manager Billy King announced on Wednesday.

Uzoh appeared in four games with the Armor, three starts, and averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.25 steals in 33.3 minutes. He shot .609 (28-46) from the field and had his best outing at Sioux Falls on 3/22 when he tallied 27 points, 12-14 FG’s, nine rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes.

Rockets Send Thabeet To D-League

Houston Rockets center Hasheem Thabeet was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment marks the 48th time in the 2010-11 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the second assignment for Thabeet, a second-year pro out of Connecticut.

Thabeet, the No. 2 overall selection in the 2009 NBA Draft, is the 34th NBA player to be assigned to the NBA D-League this season, which is an all-time high. The Memphis Grizzlies, who drafted Thabeet, assigned him to the Dakota Wizards last season, where he averaged 13.8 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.8 blocks in six games.

Thabeet (7-3, 263) has appeared in 115 career NBA games, averaging 2.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.9 minutes.

Hornets Won't Sign McNeal To 2nd 10-Day Contract

The Hornets are not going to extend guard Jerel McNeal's 10-day contract that he signed on March 9, team officials said Friday. McNeal has not played in five games since joining the Hornets and was signed as insurance in the backcourt following Chris Paul's concussion.

McNeal, 6-foot-3 point guard, is expected to return to Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA Development League.

Warriors Reassign Lin To Reno Bighorns

The Golden State Warriors have reassigned guard Jeremy Lin to the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League, the team announced today.

Lin has previously appeared in 16 games over two stints with the Bighorns this season, averaging 17.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.19 steals in 32.0 minutes per contest.

With the Warriors this season, Lin has appeared in 23 games, averaging 1.9 points, 1.1 assists and 1.13 steals in 8.7 minutes per contest.

Nets Assign Ben Uzoh To D-League

The New Jersey Nets have assigned rookie point guard Ben Uzoh to the team’s D-League affiliate, the Springfield Armor, Nets General Manager Billy King announced today.

Uzoh, who signed with the Nets as a free agent after going undrafted out of Tulsa, has appeared in 32 games with New Jersey, averaging 3.4 points and 1.4 assists in 9.1 minutes. He tallied a career-high 18 points in 22 minutes at Houston on 2/26.

Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has assigned center Byron Mullens to the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League.

During his two previous assignments in Tulsa this season, Mullens appeared in six games (six starts) and averaged 16.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 31.7 minutes.

Hornets Sign McNeal To 10-Day Contract

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have signed guard Jerel McNeal to a 10-day contract.
 
McNeal has started all 40 games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League, averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds. He was a member on both the Charlotte Bobcats and Chicago Bulls’ Summer League rosters then joined the Houston Rockets for the preseason before joining the Vipers.

Toronto Raptors center Solomon Alabi was reassigned to the Erie BayHawks, the Raptors’ NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today.  The assignment marks the third for Alabi, a rookie out of Florida State.

Alabi (7-1, 251) was assigned on Nov. 15 and Jan. 6. Alabi has played in 11 games (all starts) with the BayHawks, averaging 8.9 points and 6.6 rebounds in 22.1 minutes. Alabi has appeared in 10 games this season for Toronto, averaging 4.0 minutes.

Jazz Sign Marcus Cousin To 10-Day Contract

The Jazz have signed Marcus Cousin from the D-League to a 10-day contract.

Cousin has been playing for the Austin Toros and played collegiate basketball for Houston.

Cousin played in 38 games for the Toros, averaging 14.7 points and 8.6 rebounds. He spent training camp with the San Antonio Spurs, recording 5.2 points and 4.2 rebounds during five preseason games.
