The NBA launched an investigation into veteran referee Eric Lewis involving an alleged burner account on Twitter.

The account, which is now deleted, defended Lewis and other NBA referees.

There is a league rule against referees commenting on officiating without receiving official authorization.

Lewis could face discipline should the account be proven to have been his. 

Jimmy Butler was fined $25,000 for not speaking to the media following the Miami Heat's Game 3 win over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Heat lost 116-99 in Game 4 and head back to Boston with a 3-1 series lead.

Game 5 takes place on Thursday. 

Nikola Jokic has been fined $25,000 for making improper contact with a spectator sitting courtside.

Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia came into possession of the game ball when it bounced into his hands following a play near his seat, and Jokić made contact with Ishbia in an attempt to take the game ball away and immediately after when the ball flew further back into the crowd.

The incident, for which Jokic received a technical foul, occurred with 2:36 remaining in the second quarter of the Nuggets’ 129-124 loss to the Suns in Game 4 of their conference semifinals playoff series on May 7 at Footprint Center.
