Jimmy Alapag will join Mike Brown's staff as a player development coach for the Sacramento Kings.

Alapag was an assistant for the Kings' G League team last season.

Ricky Rubio announced that he was putting his career on hold indefinitely to focus on his mental health.

"I have decided to stop my professional activity to take care of my mental health. I want to thank all the support I have received from the [Spanish national] team to understand my decision," said Rubio on Saturday.

The 32-year-old left Spain's training camp this week and did not play in a warmup game on Friday.

Rubio, who appeared in 33 games for the Cavs last season, has two years left on his deal. 

Terrence Williams was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in defrauding the NBA's Health and Welfare Benefit Plan.

Williams was also ordered to forfeit over $650,000 and pay $2.5 million in restitution as punishment.

The scheme generated profits through making claims for fictitious medical and dental expenses.

Williams plead guilty to conspiracy to commit health care and wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. 

13 players have plead guilty so far in the case. 

Vancouver and Montreal will host preseason games ahead of this upcoming season as part of the NBA Canada Series.

The Raptors will face the Kings in Vancouver on October 8.

The Thunder will then play the Pistons in Montreal on October 12.

22 Canadians were on NBA rosters last season, making it the most-represented country outside of the United States.
