Terrence Clarke Killed In Car Accident

Apr 22, 2021 10:37 PM

Terrence Clarke has passed away at the age of 19. Clarke left Kentucky for the 2021 NBA draft in March and had signed with Klutch Sports.

LAPD says Clarke was traveling at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light, hit another car turning left, and continued on to then hit a pole and block wall. Police say Clarke was not wearing his seatbelt properly.

The crash came following a workout with B.J. Boston. Clarke was the only person in the car.

Clarke entered his freshman season as a potential lottery pick and was ranked No. 2 in the most recent version of ESPN's top 100 prospects for the draft.

Chet Holmgren Commits To Gonzaga

Apr 19, 2021 2:04 PM

Chet Holmgren has committed to Gonzaga.

Holmgren is the projected No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Holmgren also considered going directly to the G League.

"The process was hard," Holmgren told ESPN. "I had a lot to learn on the go. I had to lean on others and get their advice. My dad went through it, and Coach Larry Suggs with Jalen. I kept getting consistent advice that I will get a feeling when I know. Not to overanalyze everything because everything sounds good. Nobody sells their weakness.

"It was [Gonzaga's] consistent approach, how versatile they are on the court and their offensive style. They take their talent and tweak their system based on their personnel. They know how to put it all together."

Holmgren had a dominant senior year for Minnehaha this past season, averaging 20.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.7 blocks while shooting 80% from the field.

Arizona has hired Tommy Lloyd as its next head coach.

Lloyd has been at Gonzaga since 2000, serving as an assistant coach under Mark Few for the past 20 seasons.

Arizona also considered Damon Stoudamire, Josh Partner and Miles Simon.

Lloyd played a key role in helping Gonzaga secure five-star prospects Jalen Suggs and Hunter Sallis in the past two recruiting classes, has the Zags in position to land No. 1 overall recruit Chet Holmgren and also led the way in landing impact transfers like Brandon Clarke and Kyle Wiltjer.
