James is expected to consider re-signing with the Cavaliers, along with possibly free agent pitches from the Lakers and 76ers.

Cavs Asked George Hill To Accept Buyout For 18-19 If LeBron James Leaves

Jan 30, 2018 4:45 PM

The Cleveland Cavaliers have interest in trading for George Hill but they want protection against his contract if LeBron James leaves in the offseason.

Hill is guaranteed $19 million next season and $1 millon out of $18 million the following season.

The Cavaliers had held talks with the Kings involving Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye.

"George Hill, they didn’t want to buy him out this year," said Brian Windhorst. "What they wanted to do was protect themselves in the event that, if LeBron James left, whether George Hill would be willing to take a buyout on the $20 million he’s owed on his contract after this season."

Knicks Attempting To Part Ways With Joakim Noah

Jan 29, 2018 1:00 PM

The New York Knicks are exploring their options in parting ways with Joakim Noah.

Noah has been sent home by the Knicks following a heated verbal exchange with Jeff Hornacek at practice last week.

The confrontation was fiery but did not become physical.

The Knicks have yet to broach buyout talks with Noah, but they could pursue their options if they're unable to trade him.

Noah believes he can still play rotational minutes for a playoff team.

Noah signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Knicks in 2016.

Paul George Describes Decision As 'Easier To Make' Due To Westbrook's Support

Jan 25, 2018 10:56 AM

Paul George said the support he received from Russell Westbrook following his All-Star snub makes his upcoming free agency decision easier to make.

"Russ is the reason why this decision is becoming even more easier to make, is the character Russ [has]," George said on Wednesday. "A stand-up guy, and he has his teammate's back."

Westbrook voiced complaints about the Warriors having four All-Stars, as well as players "complaining about getting snubbed until they get in."

"We were actually joking before he went up there, and I'm like, 'Nah, Russ, man, just let it go, let it go Russ. It is what it is, I wasn't picked,' and he was like, 'Nah, man, P, that's messed up. I'm gonna tell them something about that,'" George said.

"It was awesome for a teammate to have your back and to stand up," he said. "And to be honest, he should be a starter. He's been the MVP, been the best player at his position. He should've been a starter, but that's another story. But the fact Russ had my back, that's my guy forever, and it's more apparent what this decision needs to be made when it comes down to it."

George will be a free agent this offseason and has strongly been linked with the Lakers. George is in his first season with the Thunder.

Jan 24, 2018 11:52 AM

James Harden approached Chris Paul about his impending free agency during the second to last regular season game of the year in 2017 when he was still on the Clippers.

"So, what are you going to do?" asked Harden to Paul.

Harden and Paul previously had superstar marriages that didn't work out. Harden and Dwight Howard had teamed up with the Rockets while Paul and Blake Griffin never reached the Western Conference Finals.

Harden is said to have been an active recruiter of Paul in the weeks leading to an eventual opt-in and trade to the Rockets.
