Gerald Madkins has accepted a position in the front office of the Los Angeles Clippers, becoming the team's director of basketball operations.
Madkins spent the past two seasons with the New Orleans Hornets as VP of Player Personnel.
Madkins was in charge of the college scouting department for the Hornets, but he was based in Los Angeles.
Madkins joins Brian Hagan as another member of the Hornets' front office who has recently left the team. Hagan joined the Bulls' front office as assistant general manager.
The Los Angeles Clippers have exercised the club’s fourth-year contract option Eric Bledsoe.
Bledsoe, who is entering his third NBA season, has averaged 5.6 points, 2.9 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 19.0 minutes over his career. In 40 regular season games played last year, Bledsoe tallied 3.3 points in 11.6 minutes per game.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have hired Sebastian Pruiti as a video analyst.
Pruiti is the founder of NBA Playbook and also wrote for Grantland in which he broke down game film.
Pruiti spent the 11-12 season as an assistant coach for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the D-League.
Michael Peck has been named head coach of the Idaho Stampede, D-League affiliate of the Portland Trail Blazers.
"This is a great opportunity with a wonderful organization," Peck said. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity ahead of me."
Peck had been the head basketball coach of the Findlay College Prep Program at the Henderson International School in Henderson, Nev., just outside of Las Vegas, the past five seasons.
Peck has coached six McDonald's All-Americans, six Parade All-Americans, six Jordan Brand All-Americans and six NBA players, including Tristan Thompson (Cleveland), Avery Bradley (Boston), Corey Joseph (San Antonio), DeAndre Liggins (Orlando), Joel Anthony (Miami) and Louis Amundson (Indiana).
The Golden State Warriors have promoted Darren Erman to be the No. 3 assistant coach on Mark Jackson's staff.
Erman replaces Wes Unseld Jr., who departed for the Orlando Magic.
Michael Malone remains the Warriors' top assistant.
Michael Sanders has been promoted to an assistant coach on Tyrone Corbin’s staff, after having spent the 2011-12 season as assistant coach/player development with the Utah Jazz.
In a related move, the Jazz has also agreed in principle with veteran NBA Development League coach, and former Jazz scout, Brad Jones to assume Sanders’ previous position as assistant coach/player development.
“Moving Mike from player development to the bench is a promotion that he has earned. His strong work ethic and skillset, coupled with his experience as a former player and coach in the NBA and D-League, has proven to be valuable to our franchise and I look forward to working with him closer in his enhanced role,” said Utah Jazz Head Coach Tyrone Corbin. “Brad is a well-respected and recognized young coaching talent with a proven track-record of player development. We are very happy to be bringing him back to the Jazz family.”
A veteran of the coaching ranks, Sanders recently completed his first season with the Jazz and has previously served as an assistant coach in the NBA for Detroit, Milwaukee and Charlotte.
The Houston Rockets have promoted Gersson Rosas to Executive VP of Basketball Operations.
Rosas had been on the short list of the San Antonio Spurs for their assistant general manager vacancy that eventually went to Scott Layden.
The Los Angeles Clippers have hired Gary Sacks as vice president of basketball operations.
Sacks is a longtime member of the Clippers' scouting department.
Sacks and Vinny Del Negro have been in charge of player personnel moves since the departure of Neil Olshey.
