Josh Childress Narrows Interest To Three NBA Teams

Jul 30, 2013 2:58 PM

Free agent forward Josh Childress is receiving strong interest from three teams on a potential veteran’s minimum deal, a league source told RealGM.

Childress has focused his career on the NBA, and he rejected a lucrative offer from European League powerhouse Olympiacos this offseason for an opportunity to stay in the league, a source said.

At 6-foot-8, Childress established himself as an active defender and slasher in four years with the Atlanta Hawks, but he averaged just one point in 14 games for the Brooklyn Nets last season. The Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings are known as firm suitors for wing free agents.

Childress, 30, has averaged 9.2 points and 4.8 rebounds over seven NBA seasons.

Raul Neto To Stay In Spain Rather Than Join Jazz

Jul 19, 2013 1:28 PM

Raul Neto will stay in Spain instead of joining the Utah Jazz for the 2013-14 season.

"Go to the NBA is a dream I want to accomplish. I think we took the first step, but it is something that cannot be in a hurry," Neto said, according to a Basketeria.com.br report. "I have to wait for the right moment."

Neto has one year remaining on his contract with Lagun Aro GBC of the Spanish ACB.

"If I have to choose, I want to play NBA, but it's not my choice," Neto said, before mentioning how the Jazz have acquired several point guards this offseason. "I don't want to be here (with Jazz) and don't play. I want to play."

The 6-foot-2 Neto averaged 8.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds last season for Lagun Aro.

He scored 25 points on five three-pointers against Real Madrid in the championship game.

Ingles, 25, spent the past three seasons with FC Barcelona.
