DeJuan Blair is in serious talks to play in Russia during the NBA lockout, according to sources.
Blair would be eligible to return to the NBA when a deal is reached.
A deal can be agreed upon within the week.
Thaddeus Young has received attention from teams in China, according to his agent Jim Tanner.
“I have been contacted by multiple teams in China expressing very serious interest in having Thaddeus Young play in their league this season,” Tanner said. “I have discussed this with Thad and he is intrigued by the possibility of playing in China if the lockout continues and has asked me to further explore these opportunities. At this point, our conversations with the teams have been preliminary but we are continuing to talk and to do our due diligence on each option.”
Young is a restricted free agent.
Wilson Chandler has signed a contract with the Zhejiang Guangsha of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Chandler will not be able to participate in the 11-12 NBA season because the CBA does not allow players to sign with an out clause.
"Maybe I'll lose out," Chandler said. "But I think it can be a great experience. I haven't been in any [labor negotiation] meetings. I can't call it. I'm just taking a risk, at the end of the day."
Chandler is a restricted free agent.
"I like [Denver], I like the team," Chandler said. "Great young team. Coach [George] Karl is a great coach. I like the management. Hopefully I'm there."
The deal is believed to be worth less than the $3.1 million qualifying offer made by the Nuggets.
Patty Mills will sign with the Melbourne Tigers, according to a report out of Australia.
Mills will likely return to the Blazers when the NBA resolves its lockout.
Mills has been subject to European offers, Basketball Australia declared it would help NBL clubs sign Mills.
Carl Landry believes the Blazers would be a good fit for him and LaMarcus Aldridge is in agreement.
“That’s big of him to speak out and I’m glad he spoke out and said he wants to play with us,” Aldridge told SLAMonline. “He’s a good player and I definitely feel like he can help us immediately.”
Aldridge has the capacity to play both power forward and center.
Negotiations between Wilson Chandler and Olimpia Milano are ongoing, but there is no deal yet.
"I can confirm that we are negotiating with Olimpia Milano and we are talking on a daily basis but the contract is not signed yet. Milano is a great team" said agent Chris Luchey.
Jerome Jordan participated in the first day of training camp with Krka on Wednesday.
Jordan has an out clause in his contract to return to the Knicks when the lockout ends.
"This gives Jerome the opportunity to be in game shape if the lockout is lifted," agent Todd Ramasar told The Post. "You saw with the NFL lockout a lot of guys had early injuries. I'm happy for him. It puts him in good position to develop if you're looking at a postponed season."
Craig Brackins has signed with Maccabi Ashdod of Israel.
Brackins will be replacing Josh Duncan, who was recently injured and will miss two months.
