Thad Young Considered 'Most Readily Available' Player On Bulls

Jul 25, 2020 11:34 PM

Thad Young is considered the "most readily available" player on the Chicago Bulls roster, sources told K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports.

Sources cite a combination of Young's unhappiness with his role last season, plus a team-friendly contract that features a partial guarantee for the 2021-22 season.

The news comes after reports that the Knicks and Nets were both monitoring the potential availability of Zach LaVine.

Johnson adds that while LaVine is eligible for a contract extension in October, the uncertainty surrounding the team's future may dampen negotiations.

Cavaliers Don't Regret Kevin Love Extension, Won't Salary Dump Him

Jul 20, 2020 11:28 AM

The Cleveland Cavaliers "don't regret" signing Kevin Love to his extension during the 2019 offseason and "all not do a salary dump" of him, according to Chris Fedor of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Love signed a four-year, $120 million extension shortly after LeBron James left the franchise to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Cavaliers seek "some combination of draft picks and young, ascending players for Love" if they are to trade him. The Cavaliers would likely need to take back a bad salary in return for Love to get that type of package.

"It’s clear Cleveland’s view on Love doesn’t align with the rest of the league. That’s normal. The Cavs like him," writes Fedor.

With the Cavaliers attempting to accelerate their rebuild, they're unlikely to trade Love unless they get an offer they perceive as helping them in both the short and long-term.

Knicks Linked With Potential Move For Devin Booker Due To Leon Rose Relationship

Jul 4, 2020 5:38 PM

The New York Knicks could potentially make a move for Devin Booker due to his prior relationship with Leon Rose, league sources told Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Rose was Booker's agent, with William Wesley reportedly also close to Booker due to their Kentucky ties.

In regarding potential trades involving the Knicks, Berman writes that "the player to watch out for most is Suns combo guard Devin Booker."

Rose said last week that he wants to improve the Knicks through all avenues, including the draft, free agency, and trades.

“I think he’ll do unbelievable. One of the most genuine guys I know. One of the most honest guys I know. So I’m happy for him in his new position. I think the Knicks are in really good hands," Booker said of Rose after his hire.
