Joshua Kushner became a minority shareholder of the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season. Kushner is the younger brother of Jared Kushner. Adam Silver is reportedly close friends with Jared Kushner.

Jesse Derris, a spokesman for Joshua Kushner, confirmed the purchase, as did a spokesman for the N.B.A.

“Brandon Arrindell and Joshua Kushner recently, in their respective individual capacities, purchased minority stakes in the Grizzlies,” said a team spokesman in a statement.

Kushner agreed with Grizzlies owner Robert Pera to purchase a share of the team as a limited partner in late 2018.

The Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz could pick up their trade talks involving Mike Conley around the draft.

The Grizzlies and Jazz held serious talks on Conley leading to the deadline, but no trade was ultimately executed.

The Grizzlies have begun to fully shift to rebuilding mode with their trade of Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors. 

Conley has an Early Termination Option on his contract for the 20-21 season that he's unlikely to exercise.

Mike Conley appreciated being named Western Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career, saying that it shows how he hasn't lost a step at this point in his career.

“To do it coming off a year where it was probably the hardest year of my life with the injury and the surgery, not knowing how you’re going to come back for it. To get one the year after something like that happens in your 12th year, when everyone tells you you’re supposed to be slowing down, you’re just defeating the odds in a sense. It’s pretty cool to have that kind of honor at this point in my career," said Conley.

Conley is averaging 31.3 points and 7.7 assists on 55% shooting from the field since last Monday.

J.B. Bickerstaff noted that the Grizzlies are running more four-out offense with Conley free to attack the basket.

No matter how we get it to him, whether it’s just straight pick-and-roll, we move him around and get it back to him, the ball is going to be in his hands and he’s gotta make the play. The way the teams have been playing him, he’s been able to get to his floaters, he’s been able to get to his pull-ups. But I think this is a role that he’s comfortable in and just with the changes it’s become more necessary, and he’s been effective.”

Andre Drummond and Mike Conley have been named the NBA's Players of the Week.

Drummond averaged 22.3 points and 18.0 rebounds per game in Detroit's 3-0 week.

Conley averaged 31.3 points and 7.7 assists as the Grizzlies also went 3-0.
