Devin Booker Calls Chris Paul's Fourth Quarter 'A Work Of Art' After Comeback Win

Feb 20, 2021 1:29 PM

The Phoenix Suns turned an 11-point four quarter deficit into an 18-point win in their 132-114 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

It was the largest defeat in the shot-clock era for a team that entered the fourth quarter with a double-digit lead.

Devin Booker credited Chris Paul, who finished with 15 points and 19 assists, for the comeback.

"Man is orchestrating out there. He knows what's going on on the floor before it even happens. With him, the game is never out of reach ... In that fourth quarter, it's a work of art. The way he was picking apart their defense and making plays for others and at the same time scoring when he had to," said Booker.

Paul also finished plus-28 in the fourth quarter.

The Pelicans are now 12-9 in games in which they've had a double-digit lead, the most losses for a team when leading by double digits this season.

Heat Offered Jae Crowder One-Year Deal Above Average Annual Value Of Phoenix Contract

Feb 1, 2021 4:10 PM

Jae Crowder left the Miami Heat in the offseason to sign with the Phoenix Suns on a three-year, $30 million deal. While the Heat were attempting to preserve their 2021 cap flexibility, Crowder was seeking a multiyear contract on the open market given his age.

"I'm fairly certain the Heat offered him more than that $9 million number on a one-year deal," said Brian Windhorst. "I know they offered him more than $9 million on a one-year deal. They tried to do the same thing they did with Dragic and Meyers Leonard, which is 'let's find a number where you're comfortable taking just one year.'

"Jae was like, 'At this point in my career, I need a multi-year contract.'"

Crowder signed a five-year, $35 million contract with the Boston Celtics in 2015, which became one of the NBA's best bargains during the lifespan of the deal. Crowder was traded four times on the deal from Boston to Cleveland to Utah to Memphis to Miami.

The Heat have appeared to miss Crowder to start the season as they've struggled to regain the form they displayed during the playoffs.

Chris Paul: We're Not Playing Well Enough Right Now

Jan 28, 2021 1:19 PM

Chris Paul voiced his frustration after the Phoenix Suns lost their third straight game on Wednesday.

"We're not ..." Paul started, pausing briefly, "playing well enough right now. I'm not going to say we're not good enough, but we're not playing well enough right now."

The Suns are now 8-8 on the season and have been without Devin Booker for two straight games.

"We play in spurts," Paul said. "We've gotta respect who we're playing against. Every night. Respect the opponent. They get paid just like we do."
