Suns Get Into Snowball Fight Waiting To Get Out Of Denver

Dec 21, 2006 11:19 PM

It took a blizzard to finally stop the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns remained snowbound in a downtown Denver hotel Thursday, practicing at the nearby Pepsi Center and getting into a snowball fight to pass the time.

The Denver airport was closed Thursday and wasn't expected to reopen until about noon Friday. A chartered plane was being sent to Denver and the team planned to leave sometime in the afternoon.

The Suns will play the Wizards in Phoenix on Friday night. The game is a late start, 8:30 p.m. MST, which should allow the team to get home in plenty of time.

Iverson "Highly Improbable" For Tonight's Game

Dec 20, 2006 2:25 PM

With a blizzard blowing through town, the Nuggets don't expect Allen Iverson at Wednesday night's game against Phoenix.

"Highly improbable to next to impossible," said Mark Warkentien, Denver's VP of basketball operations.

But he wouldn't rule it out.

"As we speak we're exploring every alternative way," Warkentien said. "Is there another airport that's open within driving distance? Is there a military base that's open? If there's any way we can do it, we're trying. But I don't want to paint a picture that he'll be here."

Iverson is definitely expected to be in the lineup Friday night against Sacramento.

Dec 19, 2006 11:08 AM

Bryan Colangelo's Raptors will play their first game in Phoenix on Tuesday since he took over as GM.

"Everything seems familiar but foreign," Colangelo said after the Raptors practiced Monday in Phoenix. "It's an unusual but unique emotion. It's kind of like being a stranger in your house. It's probably like how it would feel if you sold your house and went back to it with the new people living there."
