Paul Allen Announces Return Of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Oct 1, 2018 4:57 PM

Paul Allen has announced his non-Hodgkin's lymphoma has returned.

Allen is the owner of the Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle Seahawks.

"I learned recently that the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that I was treated for in 2009 has returned. My team of doctors has begun treatment of the disease and I plan on fighting this aggressively.

"A lot has happened in medicine since I overcame this disease in 2009. My doctors are optimistic that I will see good results from the latest therapies, as am I.

"I will continue to stay involved with Vulcan, the Allen Institutes, the Seahawks and Trail Blazers, as I have in the past. I have confidence in the leadership teams to manage their ongoing operations during my treatment.

"I am very grateful for the support I’ve received from my family and friends. And I’ve appreciated the support of everyone on the teams and in the broader community in the past, and count on that support now as I fight this challenge.

"Go Seahawks! Go Blazers!"

Damian Lillard Would Like To Remain With Blazers For Entire Career

Sep 7, 2018 12:59 PM

Damian Lillard won't be a free agent until 2021 and would like to remain with the Portland Trail Blazers for his entire career.

“That would be an honor to be a lifetime Blazer,” Lillard told The Athletic at the NBA 2K launch in New York. “Not a lot of guys get to play for one organization for their entire career. Obviously, I love playing for the Blazers. I love living in the city. I feel like I’ve established a connection with the people and the culture of the city just as much as I’ve done on the basketball court, so that’s important. But, as we know, it’s a business and a lot of times organizations have other plans, and sometimes players change their stance on that. But to be a lifetime Blazer, that would be great. I’m all on board for it.”

Lillard has been the subject of trade rumors on the fringes of the NBA world this offseason with the Los Angeles Lakers linked.

Lillard is eligible for a supermax extension in 2019.

CJ McCollum Finds Superteams 'Disgusting'

Aug 15, 2018 1:56 PM

CJ McCollum continues to speak out against the Golden State Warriors.

"I would never do anything of that nature. I think that's disgusting," said McCollum.

McCollum was also asked if superteams are the future of the NBA, but he expressed his belief that most players will go in a different direction: "I think some players will take that route, but most guys have too much pride. [They] want to really win on their own or in their certain organizations and aren't just going to jump the bandwagon."

McCollum has never made an All-Star Game or All-NBA team in his career and won't be a free agent until 2021.

Ed Davis Also Received Interest From Blazers, Warriors, 76ers, Thunder

Jul 26, 2018 9:50 AM

Ed Davis received interest from the Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers before agreeing to a one-year, $4.4 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

“The main thing is they definitely came out aggressive when July 1 hit, so I definitely wanted to go to where I was wanted, so that had a lot to do with it,” Davis said on a conference call. “Then, I talked to Allen (Crabbe) and Jeremy (Lin) a little bit about the coaching staff and things like that and how the organization was run, and it was nothing but great things. Then, I think this team has potential definitely. We can try to make this push into the playoffs this year, and it’s going to be a challenge, but that’s one of the reasons why I’m here.”
