The Memphis Grizzlies are signing guard Zavier Simpson to a 10-day contract. Simpson will be signed via a hardship exception, since Memphis still has several players out with injuries.

Simpson has started 48 games for the Motor City Cruise of the G League this season. The 6-foot point guard has averaged 19.5 points, 8.1 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

Simpson previously played in four NBA games with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2022.

The Memphis Grizzlies will sign forward Maozinha Periera to a second 10-day contract. Periera completed his first 10-day deal with the Grizzlies on Friday.

Signed via a hardship exception, Periera appeared in four games for Memphis on his first 10-day contract. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 2.8 and 2.3 rebounds in 6.6 minutes per game.

Brandon Clarke has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game when the Memphis Grizzlies host the Los Angeles Lakers.

Clarke hasn't played since suffering a torn Achilles in March 2023.

Clarke was averaging 12.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 58 games before his injury last season. 

The Memphis Grizzlies will sign DeJon Jarreau to a second 10-day contract, reported Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Jarreau is averaging  5.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in five games with the Grizzlies this season.

The team was also granted a hardship roster spot and will sign Maozinha Pereira to a 10-day contract.

Pereira is averaging 10.8 points and 8.8 rebounds for Mexico City in the G League.

The injury-ravaged Memphis Grizzlies might have some reinforcements on the way. Both guard Desmond Bane and forward Brandon Clarke are closing in on returns.

Bane has advanced to playing five-on-five in recent days. Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins said Bane should return to game action in "a couple games". Bane hasn't played in over two months, since he suffered a Grade 3 left ankle sprain on January 12.

Clarke has yet to play this season. He tore his left Achilles tendon last March. But Clarke has ramped up considerably and will begin five-on-five work this coming weekend. Jenkins said the hope is Clarke will play in games by the end of the month.

The injury-ravaged Memphis Grizzlies are bringing in some additional help. DeJon Jarreau will sign with Memphis on a 10-day hardship contract.

The Grizzlies regularly have between eight and 12 players unavailable due to various injuries. Several of those players have already been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Jarreau has appeared in 36 games between the Memphis Hustle and the Capital City Go-Go this G League season. The 6-foot-5 point guard has averaged 14.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game this season.

The Memphis Grizzlies have agreed to a 10-day contract with Wenyen Gabriel.

Gabriel played in 68 games with the Los Angeles Lakers last season, averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 15.1 minutes.

In 24 G League games with the Wisconsin Herd this season, Gabriel is averaging 16.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.8 blocks in 33.3 minutes.
