Rockets Target Chris Bosh, Raptors Interested In Jordan Hill

Apr 29, 2020 11:22 AM

Sources say the Rockets' primary free-agent target is still Chris Bosh.

Houston would have to arrange a sign-and-trade deal with Toronto.

The Raptors are reportedly intrigued by Jordan Hill, whom the Rockets acquired from New York on trade deadline day in February.  The Knicks made the deal to clear their second maximum-salary contract slot, which could be offered to Bosh.

Rockets Expect Yao To Be 100% By Next Postseason

Apr 16, 2010 4:50 PM

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey discussed the state of the team recently and touched on the health of center Yao Ming.

"I don't know," Morey said of what kind of minutes Yao could handle next season.

"I think for sure by playoff time we think he can be 100 percent back, which is the most important time, obviously. He can be back to where he was last year when he was playing at a high level. What his exact ramp-up will be, I don't think anybody knows exactly how that will happen."

Morey added that Yao is on schedule in his rehabilitation.

"Yao is on schedule with the doctors. I think he's at two-thirds of his body weight on the treadmill. Each week it ramps up a little bit and each week he's responded great so we expect him to be back at the start of the preseason. If it's not exactly that, we're OK with it. Again, we're focused on having him in the playoffs next year and clearly we'd like to have him for a large (percentage), if not all of the regular season as well."

Rockets Will Re-Sign Scola

Apr 9, 2010 4:37 PM

The Rockets plan to re-sign forward Luis Scola this summer.

"He will be back," general manager Daryl Morey said.

Morey added that Houston owner Leslie Alexander wants Scola back as well.

"Leslie gave us the resources and said whatever it takes," Morey said. "He's back"

The forward was happy to hear the general manager's comments.

"I was happy (to hear Morey's comments)," Scola said. "I know they like me. I know they want me to stay. But the process is not that simple. It's not they want me to stay, I want to stay, it's done. I'm optimistic. But just like they will do whatever they have to do, I will probably do what I have to do.

"I want to be here. I like Houston. But there are a lot of things to talk about. I'm a professional. I've been playing around the world. I'll do whatever I have to do. I want to be in Houston and I want to be in the NBA, but if I have to go, I'll go to another team in the NBA or another team around the world."
