Knicks Interested In Trading For Eric Gordon

Dec 17, 2021 9:06 AM

The New York Knicks have struggled to a 13-16 record so far this season. But the poor record hasn't pushed New York off of adding players who can help them this season. The team reportedly has a long list of players to trade for to aid a playoff push.

One target for the Knicks is Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets. New York point guard Derrick Rose has long advocated for his team to trade for Gordon. The two were AAU teammates and have been known to want to play together in the NBA.

Gordon has had a bounce-back season for the rebuilding Rockets. He's averaged 14.7 points on 47.7% shooting from the field, including an impressive 43.4% from behind the arc. Gordon's contract is for $18.2 million this season and is fully guaranteed for $19.6 million for 2022-23. Gordon's deal is fully non-guaranteed for $20.9 million for 2024-24, unless he hits some unlikely triggers this season or next.

Rockets Open To Trade Offers For Christian Wood

Dec 10, 2021 8:58 AM

The Houston Rockets are the NBA's hottest team, as they've won seven consecutive games. However, Houston is still realistic about this being a rebuilding season. As such, the Rockets are open to listening to trade offers for Christian Wood.

While Houston isn't shopping Wood, they are willing to take proposals for the talented big man. The Rockets see Wood as young enough to be in his prime when their younger players mature into a playoff-contending roster.

Wood has been Houston's best player this season. The forward/center has averaged 16.3 points, a career-best 11.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. Wood is also handing out a career-high 2.3 assists per game as well.

Rockets Make US Pro Sports History With Sixth Straight Win

Dec 6, 2021 9:45 AM

It's been a down season for the rebuilding Houston Rockets. But that didn't stop the Rockets from making some history.

When Houston beat the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, their sixth straight win made history. The Rockets became the first team in NBA, MLB, NFL or NHL history to go from a 15-game or more long losing streak to a winning streak of six games.

Houston opened the 2021-22 NBA season 1-1 and then lost their next 15 games. Since that point, the Rockets have ripped off six consecutive wins to improve to 6-16 on the young season.

John Wall, Rockets Haven't Discussed Buyout As Serious Possibility

Dec 3, 2021 10:58 AM

A buyout between John Wall and the Houston Rockets "hasn't been seriously discussed by either side as a possibility."

Wall is due $44 million this season and $47 million next season. For a buyout to make sense for the Rockets, Wall would have to give back even more money than Kemba Walker did with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Walker was able to make the money back by signing with the New York Knicks.

Both a trade and a buyout becomes more palatable this coming offseason when Wall has just one season remaining.

“It’s hard for him at this point in time, when your salary doesn’t equal what your production is,” a sympathetic front office person from another team said Wednesday. “That’s hard for him. It’s hard for a lot of guys.”

Wall is expected to have interest once he becomes available at a more affordable contract.

“He’s still really good,” a GM with no current need at point guard texted. “Just not at the number he currently makes.”
