Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger has been suspended for one game without pay for striking the Chicago Bulls? Andres Nocioni in the face, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 7:10 remaining in the fourth period of Indiana?s 113-107 loss to the Bulls on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Conseco Fieldhouse. Granger will serve the suspension tonight when the Pacers visit the Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre.

Pacers' forward Shawne Williams will miss the team's game in Toronto after a man was arrested after leaving his home on Wednesday night, according to the Associated Press.

He did not practice with the team on Thursday and has not been suspended by the team.

Gary Bohannon, 22, of Tennessee was being held without bond in Marion County Jail. Police arrested home around 6 p.m. after he left the house in a truck registered to Williams.

Pacers spokesman David Benner listed Bohannon as a friend of Williams' cousin and said that Shawne wasn't aware of the warrant for Bohannon's arrest.

"The authorities told us he wasn?t staying at Shawne?s house," Benner said.

Police say Bohannon was arrested in September on a drug charge while in a car with Williams.

Williams left the team's game against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday during halftime.

According to a report by the Associated Press, Pacers' guard Marquis Daniels is not a suspect in a rape which allegedly took place in his home on Sunday night.

Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter said a woman reported the rape to police in Indianapolis on Sunday when she went to a hospital there, the report writes.

Jermaine O'Neal is optimistic about his return to the court for the Indiana Pacers in the near future, according to the Indianapolis Star.

He met with doctors in New York over the weekend and it appears as though he could return to floor before the end of the regular season.

"It was great," O'Neal told the Star on Saturday. "Obviously there's a little bit more work to be done, but now I can start picking it up. The goal right now is to start practicing, and once I get to practicing, the next goal would be to play."

"It can be as long as three to four weeks or sooner depending on the progression. We've seen great strides in the last few days," he added.

Larry Bird said in a press conference on Friday morning that he thinks the Pacers will get better once someone steps up and becomes the leader of the team, according to The Indianapolis Star.

"I don?t think we have what I call a great leader in that locker room," Bird said during the news conference. "Players will say, 'Come on, I?m a leader.' No, it?s not there . .. Until we have that, we will struggle at times. There?s no question about that. As far as a leader, no, we don?t have that."

Reports are trickling in from papers in Philadelphia, Miami, and Indiana that the Sixers, Heat, and Pacers let the deadline pass without making a trade.

The Warriors are not looking to add a player with a long-term salary because of their concerns about re-signing Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins.

But the San Francisco Chronicle reports that they would consider it for a Jermaine O'Neal or Elton Brand, but the likelihood is slim.

Indiana Head Coach Jim O'Brien doesn't think the Pacers will make any moves before the trade deadline, according to The Indianapolis Star.

"That's my sense; this will be the group we will have," O'Brien told The Star.

"It is what it is," O'Brien added. "I happen to like coaching this group of players. I think they feel like they haven't played their best basketball. . .If Larry and his group decide to make a change, we'll make that adjustment. If this is the group that has to fight it out for the playoffs, that's fine with me."
