Marc Lasry To Sell His Stake In Bucks To Haslam Sports Group At $3.5 Billion Valuation

Feb 27, 2023 8:42 AM

Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has reached agreement to sell his stake in the team to Jimmy and Dee Haslam of Haslam Sports Group. The valuation agreed to was $3.5 billion.

Lasry is selling his 25 percent share of the Bucks after nearly nine years of ownership. Lasry and Wes Edens bought the majority of the franchise from Herb Kohl in April 2014. Kohl still retains a significant minority investment in the Bucks.

Under Edens and Lasry's ownership, the Bucks won the 2021 NBA Finals. The duo also helped push through the building of the Fiserv Forum. The Bucks have played there since October 2018.

The $3.5 billion valuation is the second-highest in NBA history, following the recent $4 billion valuation of the Phoenix Suns when Mat Ishbia purchased the team earlier this year. Haslam Sports Group also owns the NFL's Cleveland Brown and MLS's Columbus Crew.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Day-To-Day With Right Knee Injury

Feb 25, 2023 1:41 AM

Giannis Antetokounmpo left the Milwaukee Bucks win over the Miami Heat in the first quarter with a right knee injury and did not return to the game.

Mike Budenholzer said that Antetokounmpo would be day-to-day with the injury.

Antetokounmpo suffered the injury after knocking knees with a Heat player.

"He was basically asking out. Fortunately we had the ball. I don't think we know exactly when he knocked knees," said Budenholzer after the game.

With the win, the Bucks also continued their 13-game win streak.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Doubtful To Play Friday With Wrist Injury

Feb 24, 2023 9:40 AM

The Milwaukee Bucks have listed Giannis Antetokounmpo as doubtful for their game on Friday vs the Miami Heat. Antetokounmpo is dealing with a sprained right wrist.

Antetokounmpo was injured in the Bucks final game before the All-Star break. The two-time MVP fell awkwardly to the floor against the Chicago Bulls and came up with an injured wrist.

Antetokounmpo then "played" in the All-Star game on Sunday night. Really, all the Bucks star did was make an uncontested dunk immediately after tip-off, before exiting for the night.

Milwaukee has said they don't believe the injury will cost Antetokounmpo considerable time, but that they will be cautious with him moving forward. The Bucks are one game behind the Boston Celtics for the NBA's best record and homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.

Jae Crowder To Make Bucks Debut After All-Star Break

Feb 14, 2023 1:42 AM

Jae Crowder won't make his Milwaukee Bucks debut until after the All-Star break, Mike Budenholzer said on Monday.

Crowder, who has yet to suit up this season, was initially traded from the Suns to the Nets in the Kevin Durant deal, then traded again to the Bucks before the trade deadline.

Crowder did not specify his rift with the Suns on Monday.

"I just feel like it's behind me now. We had some stuff happen internally that they asked me to keep inside, so I'm going to grant their wishes.

"Obviously I've been working with these guys for a trade partner for months now. I think give or take they did exactly what they said they was going to do," said Crowder.

Marc Lasry In Serious Talks To Sell Stake In Bucks To Jimmy Haslam

Feb 10, 2023 3:20 PM

Marc Lasry is in serious talks to sell his stake in the Milwaukee Bucks to Jimmy Haslam and Haslam Sports Group.

Haslam would join the ownership group with current co-owner Wes Edens.

Edens and Lasry bought the Bucks from Herb Kohl in 2014 for $550 million.

The process with Haslam began after Lasry considered selling his stake in the Bucks to Mat Ishbia, who instead bought controlling interest in the Phoenix Suns.

Haslam is already the owner of two professional sports franchises, the Cleveland Browns in the NFL and the Columbus Crew in the MLS.
