Jay-Z has confirmed that the New Jersey Nets will be renamed the Brooklyn Nets when they move to the borough next season.

"From the moment the Barclays Center became a reality, I knew this meant something significant for Brooklyn," Brooklyn-born Jay-Z said at a news conference.

The Nets have reached agreement with Bob MacKinnon Jr. to coach the Springfield Armor of the D-League, according to sources.

Springfield is the D-League affiliate of the Nets.

Deron Williams made his debut for Besiktas on Saturday, defeating Montepaschi Siena by a final score of 93-91.

Williams had 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists in 18 minutes.

John Loyer, assistant coach of the New Jersey Nets, has been granted permission to interview for a job with the Pistons.

The Pistons hired Lawrence Frank to be their new head coach this summer.
