Spurs Will Take Wait And See Approach With Manu's New Deal

Manu Ginobili is entering the final season of his contract and Spurs general manager R.C. Buford says there is no firm timetable for talking to Ginobili about a new one.

?It could happen during the season, or it might happen after,? Buford said. ?We'll just have to see.?

Ginobili is well into his 30s and has a history of injury problems, but the Spurs realize his value when healthy.

Spurs Waive Jack McClinton

The San Antonio Spurs announced today that they have waived guard Jack McClinton.

The 6-1, 185-pound, McClinton was drafted by San Antonio in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft, 51st overall. He was signed on 9/14.

The Spurs roster stands at 18.

Bogans Signs One-Year Deal With Spurs

The Spurs have signed veteran guard Keith Bogans to a one-year, $1.03 million deal.

San Antonio is hoping that Bogans will be able to fill the void left behind by Bruce Brown, who they traded to the Bucks and then retired earlier this summer.

Like Bowen, Bogans has a reputation for being a strong defender.

Spurs' Jefferson Dislocates Right Thumb

Richard Jefferson suffered a dislocated right thumb during a workout at the Spurs' practice facility on Tuesday.

Jefferson's X-rays were negative, according to the Spurs.

The small forward will be examined again next week and a determination on when he can resume basketball activities will be reached then.

Jefferson was acquired by San Antonio via a pre-draft trade with the Bucks that sent Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto to Milwaukee.

Robinson: Duncan Is Best PF Ever

David Robinson gave props to former teammate Tim Duncan during his Hall of Fame acceptance speech on Friday.

"Timmy, my man," Robinson said while looking over at a Spurs contingent in the audience that included Duncan, coach Gregg Popovich, owner Peter Holt and general manager R.C. Buford. "The greatest power forward ever to play the game, in my opinion."

Turning back to the entire crowd, Robinson admitted that he was praying San Antonio would land a player like Duncan way back when.

"Have you ever gotten down on your knees and prayed for something real hard? (Timmy) was my answered prayer."

Bowen Set To Retire

Bruce Bowen is retiring from the NBA on Thursday.

?I?m very happy,? Bowen, 38, said this morning. ?It hasn?t been difficult. I was content about it and understood it was going to happen.?

Bowen had an audition with ESPN earlier this week and will be working on something with Turner Broadcasting later.
