FBI Arrests Crittenton In Southern California

Aug 30, 2011 1:27 AM

Former NBA player Jarvaris Crittenton, who was suspended from the league for having guns in a locker room with teammate Gilbert Arenas, was arrested Monday in Southern California to face a murder charge in a deadly Atlanta shooting.

Crittenton was taken into custody at about 8 p.m. at John Wayne Airport in Orange County after checking in for a Delta Air Lines flight to Atlanta, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.

Eimiller said he was arrested without incident by FBI agents with assistance from the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities were trying to determine whether Crittenton will make an initial appearance in federal court, or be taken directly to Atlanta to face state charges there.

Wall Playing More Pickup Because Of Lockout

Aug 24, 2011 10:22 AM

John Wall has played more pickup basketball and pro-games this summer than he normally would because of the lockout.

Players are banned from NBA facilities.

“I’d probably be in DC working out with my coaches,” Wall said. “But since it’s a lockout, why not? That’s why you see me going to different cities and different neighborhoods and not getting paid for it. Just enjoy myself. Keep your game fresh.”

“I don’t know. I ain’t thinking about it right now,” Wall told reporters in Louisville, Ky., after scoring 26 points in a second exhibition game between former Kentucky stars in the NBA and the Dominican Republic. “I just want to play basketball. You see me in all the summer leagues. I just want to play basketball. That’s all that matters to me right now.”

Booker Signs With Bnei HaSharon Of Israel

Aug 4, 2011 8:25 PM

Trevor Booker signed a one-year deal on Thursday with Israeli Basketball League team Bnei HaSharon that has an opt-out clause that will allow him to return to the Wizards whenever the lockout ends.

Booker’s agent, Andy Miller, said that Booker had been “getting an earful for about 40 days” about the possibility of playing overseas until the right deal came along with the team that plays in the top division of Israeli basketball.

Wizards General Manager Ernie Grunfeld’s son, Dan, played for Bnei HaSharon last season.

“I’m real excited,” Booker said in a telephone interview on Thursday. “I get to play against some competition again. I think it will be a neat experience, so I’m definitely excited.”
