Jerry Reindsorf Frustrated With Gar Forman Over Bulls' Poor Start

Nov 29, 2019 4:51 PM

Jerry Reinsdorf "is livid" about the Chicago Bulls' slow start to the 19-20 season, according to several sources that spoke with Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. Reinsdorf reportedly is focused on Gar Forman and his unhappiness has been building over time after several questionable decisions.

The opinion of Doug Collins has been carrying weight in the matter.

John Paxson is thought to be untouchable to Reinsdorf, while Boylen is also well-respected with his three-year extension signed off on by Forman, Paxson, Collins, Jerry Reinsdorf and Michael Reinsdorf.

Zach LaVine After Hitting 13 3's: 'Hopefully This Is That Turning Point For Us'

Nov 24, 2019 1:26 AM

Zach LaVine hit 13 3-pointers, including the game winner, in the Chicago Bulls' 116-115 win over the Charlotte Hornets. The 13 3's represent the second-most in NBA history, tied with Steph Curry.

LaVine's 49-point performance comes a day after he was benched in the first quarter by Jim Boylen.

"We've been playing good in stretches. We just executed to perfection down the stretch. Obviously, you know, we got blessed a little bit with some luck. We can take this energy and go on to the next game. Hopefully this is that turning point for us. Every team has it. This could be a big step for us in the right direction," said LaVine after the game.

Boylen added that he was pleased with how LaVine responded to the benching.

"My job is to push the guy to a place he can't take himself, and that happens sometimes with tough conversations, meetings and maybe some uncomfortable moments, but that's what my job is. The credit needs to go to him and his focus, energy and his effort. He is always good when we coach him and talk to him. He wants to play better, I want him to play better and I am really happy for him."

Zach LaVine On Jim Boylen: 'It's Hard To Trust Someone Who Doesn't Trust You'

Nov 23, 2019 12:46 PM

Zach LaVine pointed to a lack of trust between him and Jim Boylen following the Chicago Bulls' 116-108 loss to the Miami Heat.

LaVine was pulled in the first quarter, with the Bulls down 13-0, after what Boylen described were defensive mistakes.

“I thought, ‘He needs a break.’ I thought he needed to come in and think about it. I felt there were some defensive mistakes that didn’t need to be made. I thought he needed to come over and think about it for a minute," said Boylen.

LaVine told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports that the two may have to sit down for a one-on-one talk.

"I’m trying my best, I'll say that. I'm playing my minutes and trying to do the best I can do. It's tough, especially when you're in a rut. If he doesn't trust me, it's hard to trust someone who doesn't trust you."

Coby White Sets Bulls Record With 7 3-Pointers In Quarter

Nov 13, 2019 2:16 AM

Coby White became the youngest player in NBA history to hit 7 3-pointers in a game during the Chicago Bulls' 120-102 win over the New York Knicks.

White, who made all 7 3's in the 4th quarter, also set a Bulls record for most 3's in a quarter.

“I know to shoot your way out of a slump, you gotta shoot the ball and stay confident. If you’re not confident, you’re never going to hit shots. I just try to stick to my plan. Get in the gym, get up extra shots and stay level-headed and confident," said White, who finished with 27 points in the game.

White broke the franchise record in front of Roy Williams.

“It was a blessing to have him come all the way out here during his season. That explains the type of relationship you have when you go to North Carolina. Our relationship goes beyond basketball. I love him," said White of his relationship with his former college coach.

Otto Porter Out With Left Foot Sprain, No Timetable For Return

Nov 9, 2019 12:54 PM

Otto Porter will miss at least the Chicago Bulls' game against the Houston Rockets with a left foot sprain.

The team has placed no timetable for his return.

"It's a soft-tissue injury, so it's something that's difficult to put a timetable on. That's about as easy as I could say. We're not exactly sure," said Jim Boylen.

Porter suffered the injury on Wednesday against the Hawks.
