The Dallas Mavericks plan to sign Tyrell Terry to a four-year deal.

Terry was the No. 31 pick in the draft out of Stanford.

The Mavericks similar signed Jalen Brunson to a four-year, $6.1 million deal when they selected him No. 33 in 2018.

J.J. Barea has agreed to a one-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks worth $2.6 million.

The Mavericks were expected to sign Barea sign the start of free agency.

Barea suffered a torn Achilles in January of 2019, but returned lats season.

Willie Cauley-Stein has agreed to sign a two-year, $8.2 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Mavs will have a team option on the second year. 

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a two-year deal with Wes Iwundu, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic. Iwundu's deal will be worth the veteran's minimum. 

Iwundu averaged 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds with the Magic last season.

The Dallas Mavericks plan to sign J.J. Barea to a contract.

Barea tore his Achilles during the 18-19 season and was limited to 29 games last season. 

There had been speculation Barea could retire and take a different role with the Mavericks.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade James Johnson to the Dallas Mavericks with Delon Wright being sent to the Detroit Pistons. The Thunder will acquire Trevor Ariza and draft pick compensation. 

Johnson was acquired from the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the Ricky Rubio trade. Johnson is on an expiring contract worth approximately $16 million. The deal will create additional cap space for the Mavericks in 2021.

The Mavericks signed Wright to a three-year, $29 million contract last offseason.

The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to sign Trey Burke on a three-year, $10 million deal.

Burke finished last season with the Mavericks after he was waived in February by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Burke averaged 12.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 23.9 minutes per game with the Mavericks while shooting 43.1 percent on three-pointers.

The Dallas Mavericks were active in trade talks in an attempt to move up to draft Tyrese Haliburton, who could have been a good fit with Luka Doncic. 

"I heard Dallas was up to a lot last night trying to offer 18, 31 and something else, I'm not sure if it was a player or a pick to everyone from, like, seven to 10 to 11," said Zach Lowe on Thursday's podcast. "And I'm pretty sure the target was Haliburton. They were hot on Haliburton. They were offering all of these picks to try to move up and get Haliburton. They didn't get him."

Jonathan Givony of ESPN added that the Mavericks finished second behind the Portland Trail Blazers in trying to trade for Robert Covington. 

"Haliburton, they were 100 percent trying to get him," said Givony. 

Haliburton was drafted 12th overall by the Sacramento Kings.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is exercising his $19 million player option for the 20-21 season with the Dallas Mavericks.

Hardaway had a productive 19-20 season for the Mavericks.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed Nate Hinton on a two-way deal and agreed to terms with Freddie Gillespie.

Hinton averaged 10.6 points and 8.7 rebounds last season with Houston.

Gillespie averaged 9.6 points and 9.0 rebounds with Baylor.
