Nov 16, 2006 11:22 PM

John Green, the man who infamously threw a beer cup at Ron Artest that sparked a huge brawl at the Palace at Auburn Hills, has been banned for life from the arena.

"You are forever banned from attending any Detroit Pistons home games," reads the letter from John Ciszewski, executive vice president of the Pistons.

Pistons spokesman Kevin Grigg would only say: "The decision with John Green was made by our organization after discussions with league officials."

Pistons Could Have Had Iverson This Summer

Nov 12, 2006 10:51 AM

Last summer, the Pistons had an opportunity to acquire Allen Iverson via trade.  While it is unclear what GM Billy King was asking for in return, a certain point guard who won the NBA Finals MVP may have been involved.

"There's no way I'm trading Chauncey Billups," Dumars recently told associates.

A hyperextended right elbow that Rip Hamilton suffered at Thursday's practice kept him out of their win at the Staples Center against the Lakers on Friday.

"I tried to shake it off for a second," he said. "But the more I tried to shake it off, the more it would hurt."

Wallace On New Policy: "It's Kind Of Like A Slave And Master"

Nov 5, 2006 7:18 PM

Rasheed Wallace already has three technical fouls this season.  He has been the victim of the league's new policy on complaining to the referees.

"I know they're going to have to do something about this crazy zero-tolerance law," Wallace said. "That's retarded. In my mind, it's kind of like a slave and master or father and son. You've got your little son and (you say) don't say nothing back to me -- and to me, that's totally wrong. It ain't like that in any other sport."

Rasheed Wallace Rips Dispute Rule

Nov 4, 2006 4:50 AM

Rasheed Wallace watched the Spurs-Mavericks game with high interest Thursday night.

"Yeah, I watched that game," he said. "I didn't see no technical fouls given out there and I seen Tim Duncan do a lot of pointing and stuff like I did. All it is, is discrimination."

Wallace, after holding his tongue for a day, finally had his say on his ejection from the season-opening loss to the Bucks on Wednesday.

He was the first victim of the league's no-tolerance policy regarding disputes with referees.

"In my opinion, it's really (garbage)," he said. "It's just given (referees) more power than what a majority of them can handle."

Billups Has Interest In Milwaukee?

Nov 4, 2006 4:45 AM

When this season ends, Pistons guard Chauncey Billups has a player option worth $6.8 million for 2007-08. According to a close friend of Billups, the veteran point guard has interest in Milwaukee. And the interest might be mutual when the time is right.

With the Bucks projected to be $14 million under the salary cap next season and in need of a point guard, Billups could be a good fit. In Detroit's season-opening loss to Milwaukee Wednesday night, Billups saw the Bucks' young talent firsthand. The same friend said Billups liked what he saw.

Chicago signed Billups's former Detroit teammate Ben Wallace to a four-year deal worth $60 million during the offseason. And if you ask the Celtics, Billups was just as valuable to the Pistons as Wallace in recent years, if not more so.

"In my eyes, Chauncey is probably the best one-time All-Star in the history of the game," said Paul Pierce, who believes the Pistons' floor general should have received the honor at least three times. "The way he controls the game, the way his tempo is, the way he gets these guys going, he's the unquestioned leader of that team. He's capable of getting it done on both ends."

Pistons' Wallace Ejected After Second Technical

Nov 2, 2006 1:20 AM

Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace was ejected midway through the third quarter Wednesday night after being called for his second technical during the season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Wallace, notorious for bantering with officials and reacting demonstratively to their calls, might have trouble adjusting to a new NBA point of emphasis.

He was called for foul late in the first quarter. When he reacted with his eyes wide, mouth open in disbelief and his arms out at his sides, official Ken Mauer whistled him for a technical.

Official Luis Grillo ejected Wallace with a second technical after twice motioning ? with his finger across his neck ? for him to stop complaining about a call against teammate Nazr Mohammed with 7:03 left in the third quarter.

NBA commissioner David Stern is trying to eliminate complaints and other reactions after calls.
