The Detroit Pistons plan to sign Jaysean Paige to a 10-day hardship deal. The Pistons currently have several players out due to injuries and the health and safety protocols.

Paige has played for the Maine Celtics of the G League this season. In 14 games (three starts), Paige has averaged 16.9 points per game. Paige has also played professionally in Germany, North Macedonia, England, France, Puerto Rico and Hungary.

The Detroit Pistons have signed Micah Potter to a 10-day contract using the COVID-related hardship allowance.

Potter, 6-10, 248, has appeared in 11 games (all starts) this season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Miami Heat NBA G League affiliate.  He posted averages of 14.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.1 blocks in 26.3 minutes per game.

Potter saw action in six games (two starts) for the Miami Heat during the 2021-22 NBA Summer League, averaging 7.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 14.0 minutes per game.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to 10-day hardship contracts with Justin Robinson and Trayvon Palmer.

Robinson appeared in three games on a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings.

Palmer is averaging 11.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 34.0 minutes over 14 games in the G League this season.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to sign Derrick Walton and Cassius Stanley to 10-day hardship contracts.

Walton and Stanley both play for the Pistons' G League affiliate. 

Cade Cunningham has entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Cunningham is averaging 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 32.3 minutes per game this season for the Detroit Pistons.

The Detroit Pistons have agreed to sign Cheick Diallo to a 10-day hardship contract.

Diallo has played for the Pistons' G League affiliate this season, averaging 14.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in 21.7 minutes over 13 games.

The name of Jerami Grant has come up with increasing frequency in reported trade chatter during his second season with the Detroit Pistons. 

"The rising belief that the Pistons are prepared to move Grant comes in spite of his status as a longtime favorite of Pistons GM Troy Weaver," writes Marc Stein.

Grant is currently out for a minimum of six weeks after undergoing a surgical procedure to repair the UCL ligament in his right thumb.

The Pistons signed Grant to a three-year, $60 million contract during the 2020 offseason. 

The Detroit Pistons receive calls from "dozens of teams" each interested in trading for Jerami Grant. While Grant is out for multiple weeks with torn ligaments in his right thumb, it is unlikely to impact his trade value. 

The Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers are among the teams with interest in Grant.

Grant will become eligible for a four-year extension worth up to $112 million in the offseason. Grant will have one season remaining on his current deal this offseason.

The scenario of a trade and eventual extension is similar to the one the Denver Nuggets had with Aaron Gordon.

The Pistons entered play on Sunday with NBA's worst record at 4-21. There has been endless speculation Detroit could trade Grant for a package young talent and/or draft picks to aid in their ongoing rebuild.
