Webber: 'It Doesn't Matter What Flip Says'

Apr 29, 2008 10:06 AM

Chris Webber took a shot at Pistons coach Flip Saunders on a TNT broadcast on Sunday night, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Pistons were heading into the second half down ten points to the 76ers, and Webber claimed that it didn't matter what the coach said to his team during the break.

"No disrespect to Flip (Saunders), but it doesn?t matter what Flip says," Webber said.

The Pistons "take on the personality of Joe Dumars. Rip (Hamilton), Chauncey (Billups), Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed (Wallace) and (Antonio) McDyess are very mad right now, they probably aren?t even talking and they are probably just saying, 'OK we?re going to go win this game.'"

The Pistons "are really nonchalant and that?s why I felt we lost last year (in the Eastern Conference Finals)," Webber added.

Rasheed Says He Isn't Center Of Attention

Apr 24, 2008 10:36 AM

Rasheed Wallace claims that he isn't the center of attention despite receiving a lot of attention for poking his head in the huddle of the 76ers during Sunday night's Game One, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

"Some [stuff] y'all blew up," Wallace said Wednesday. "When I say 'Y'all,'...not necessarily you as individuals here today, but...these are things I've been doing my whole career. If I do something friendly like that, it's a big deal. If I rave, rant, and cuss and all that, oh, then that's normal. I'm not worried about it."

He would prefer that the entire Pistons' team receives publicity rather than him individually.

"I think you can get more done with five individuals than you can [with] one individual," he said. "If you've got one guy you know is going to get that ball in crunch time, it's easier to defend him. But if you have five guys who can get that ball in crunch time, it's harder."

Billups: Game Two Isn't A Must-Win

Apr 23, 2008 9:20 AM

Pistons' guard Chauncey Billups doesn't think Game Two against the 76ers is a must-win in their seven games series, according to the Detroit Free Press.

"I hope that this doesn't happen, but if we were down 0-2, I still feel like we'd win the series," Billups said. "But I don't want to get there and have to prove you all of that."

The series will move to Philadelphia on Friday night for Game Three.

Charles Barkley of TNT criticized the Pistons for "not showing up to play" every night following their Game One loss on Sunday night.

Barkley: Detroit Doesn't Always Show Up

Apr 22, 2008 6:17 PM

Charles Barkley doesn't think that the Detroit Pistons always show up to play, according to the Boston Globe.

"We never know which Detroit team is going to show up. In the first half [Sunday] you saw good Detroit, and in the second half you saw bad Detroit," said Barkley.

"The Celtics play the same music all the time. The Pistons play hip-hop, then jazz, then hip-hop, then jazz. They are up and down all the time," Barkley added.
