Larry Sanders underwent surgery on Monday to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and will miss approximately six weeks.

The Milwaukee Bucks' center suffered the injury in an off-court incident.

Sanders is averaging 2.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in three games this season.

Sanders is out of the Milwaukee Bucks' lineup with a "sore thumb" but also because of the off-court incident.

The Bucks said the "matter is under investigation and Larry Sanders is cooperating fully."

Sanders signed a four-year, $44 million extension in the offseason.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Caron Butler has been fined $15,000 by the NBA for making an obscene gesture.

The incident occurred in the Bucks' 105-98 win over the Boston Celtics on Friday.

Michael Redd will officially announce his retirement from the NBA on Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks announced Tuesday.

Redd reportedly turned down a training camp invitation in October.

Redd averaged 19 points and 3.8 rebounds in his 12-year NBA career, including back-to-back seasons of 25.4 points and 26.7 points per game in 2005-06 and 2006-07.

Redd spent 11 of his 12 seasons with the Bucks and gave them a prolific scorer when healthy.

Redd also was part of the gold medal-winning Team USA in the 2008 Olympics.

The NBA handed flop warnings on Monday to Patty Mills, Zaza Pachulia, Kevin Love and Corey Brewer.

Both Mills' and Pachulia's incidents occurred on Nov. 1.

Love and Brewer were warned for flops during Sunday night's win over the New York Knicks.

Ekpe Udoh returned to Milwaukee Bucks' practice on Monday, the team announced.

Udoh had been rehabilitating his knee following surgery in early October.

Udoh is questionable to play in Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
