Dewayne Dedmon Publicly Confirms He'd Prefer Trade From Kings

Dec 30, 2019 11:10 AM

Dewayne Dedmon publicly confirmed he would like to be traded from the Sacramento Kings.

Demon signed a three-year, $40 million contract with the Kings this past offseason, but he has fallen out of Luke Walton's rotation.

“I would like to be traded,” Dedmon told The Bee, speaking publicly about his trade request for the first time. “I haven’t been playing, so I would like to go somewhere where my talents are appreciated.”

Shams Charania of The Athletic first reported Dedmon's preference for a trade last.

Dedmon dismissed the notion his play contributed to falling out of the rotation.

“I’m not the only person struggling with my shot, so if that’s a factor then it’s kind of crazy,” Dedmon said. “If you’re not allowed to shoot through your slumps, I don’t know how you’re supposed to make shots.”

Buddy Hield: Kings Have Trust Issues, They Stop Believing In Players

Dec 27, 2019 11:31 AM

Buddy Hield sat out the entire fourth quarter of the Sacramento Kings' loss on Monday to the Rockets and played just 4:06 of the fourth on Thursday. Hield publicly questioned the decisions of Luke Walton.

“Seems like we’re all over the place,” Hield said. “… Trust issues going on, I guess. They stop believing in players. It is what it is.”

Hield also had issues with Dave Joerger with the fractured relationship the former Sacramento head coach had players being one of the reasons he was fired.

Hield was asked if he felt he was being singled out by the coaching staff.

“I never said that,” Hield said. “I just feel like I’m one of the better players on the team, I should be in there in the fourth quarter, trying to help my team win, regardless. That’s why I’m here, right?”

De'Aaron Fox Could Return To Kings Lineup On Tuesday

Dec 14, 2019 11:49 AM

De’Aaron Fox could make his return to the Sacramento Kings lineup against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday.

“I am surprised how fast it’s been. I knew I wouldn’t be out as long as most people are with the grade-3, but I didn’t think it would happen this fast," said Fox, who suffered an ankle sprain on November 11th.

While Fox is targeting a Tuesday return date, he added that the "worst-case scenario" would be returning on December 26th against the Timberwolves.

Kings, Bucks To Participate In Basketball Games Held At Correctional Facilities

Dec 13, 2019 2:46 AM

The Sacramento Kings and the Milwaukee Bucks will be the first NBA teams to participate in events held at correctional facilities as part of the Play For Justice campaign, reported Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

NBA players and coaches will serve as honorary coaches while facilitating discussions with incarcerated individuals.

The Kings will host the first Play For Justice event this Thursday at a prison in Northern California, with the Bucks hosting an event later this month.

The events will culminate with a game in Milwaukee on February 10th.

The campaign's goal is to bring to light stories of redemption and hope, as well as breaking down the stigma associated with individuals in the criminal justice system.

“We’re proud to be the first participant in the Play for Justice initiative, which is shining a bright light on the unique issues facing incarcerated people in communities around the country. Sports franchises have a unique opportunity to bring about positive change, which is why in the past year, the Kings and the Bucks brought together leaders from across two cities to share best practices and find new solutions to social injustices," said Vivek Ranadivé.

Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Luke Walton Dropped

Dec 5, 2019 1:38 PM

Kelli Tennant has filed court documents to drop her civil lawsuit against Luke Walton.

In August, investigators for the Kings and the NBA determined that, based on available evidence, there was "not a sufficient basis to support" the sexual assault allegations made against Walton.

There is no indication that a settlement was reached between the sides.

Walton was an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors when Tennant alleged the incident occurred.
