Will Dawkins has emerged as a strong candidate to join Michael Winger in the front office of the Washington Wizards.

Winger worked with Dawkins in the Oklahoma City Thunder front office.

The Washington Wizards have hired Michael Winger as president of Monumental Basketball. Winger will have full leadership of the franchise and also oversee the WNBA Mystics and the G League Go-Go.

Winger was hired away from the Oklahoma City Thunder by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2017 and worked under Lawrence Frank. Before working with the Thunder under Sam Presti, Winger was an executive with the Cleveland Cavaliers under GM Danny Ferry from 2005 to 2010.

Trajan Langdon was also a prominent part in the Wizards' search.

The Washington Wizards have registered formal interest in Bob Myers should he decide not to extend with the Golden State Warriors.

Myers is debating his future with the Warriors after more than a decade with the franchise. If Myers leaves the Warriors, he is widely expected not to work in a front office capacity next season. 

Trajan Langdon and Mike Winger are the other known candidates for the Wizards' job.

Clippers general manager Michael Winger interviewed for the Washington Wizards' president of basketball operations position, sources told Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Winger and Trajan Langdon have interviewed with Wizards owner Ted Leonsis thus far.

The Wizards parted ways with Tommy Sheppard in April. 

The Washington Wizards have interviewed Trajan Langdon for their head of basketball operations opening. Langdon is currently the general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, working under VP of basketball operations David Griffin.

Washington fired front office leader Tommy Sheppard last month, after four years of leading the team's basketball operations. Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said he plans to go outside of the organization to bring in his next head of basketball operations.

Langdon has been with the Pelicans for the last four seasons. He joined the team after three years as the assistant GM for the Brooklyn Nets.

Kristaps Porzingis is expected to opt out of his contract and re-sign with the Washington Wizards, sources told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.

Porzingis could command a multi-year deal for four-to-five years, ranging in between $134 million and $174 million.

Kyle Kuzma is also expected to opt out and re-sign with the team this summer. 

Kyle Kuzma is likely to opt out of his player option and re-sign with the Washington Wizards this offseason, sources told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.

Kuzma's player option for next season is worth $13 million.

The Wizards parted ways with general manager Tommy Sheppard in April. 

The Washington Wizards are in the early stages of finding a new general manager to replace Tommy Sheppard. 

The Wizards have had initial conversations with Milt Newton and Trajan Langdon.

Newton is currently assistant general manager of the Milwaukee Bucks, while Langdon is general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Ted Leonsis remains in the information-gathering stage of the process.
