The Denver Nuggets made a "very aggressive" offer to sign Malik Beasley to a contract extension before the deadline, a sources tells the Mike Singer of the Denver Post.

Beasley will be a restricted free agent this offseason.

“I put in a lot of work, I’m confident,” Beasley said. “I don’t see it as (a gamble), I just see it as I’m out there to play and do my job and do that every night and take it the same way. 

“It was great talks from both parties and just couldn’t figure something out,” Beasley said in his first public comments about the negotiations. “It doesn’t hurt my relationship with them, it doesn’t hurt anything on the court.”

Malik Beasley and the Denver Nuggets are discussing a contract extension.

ESPN reported Beasley turned down a three-year, $30 million offer from the Nuggets.

Beasley is now being represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

The Nuggets like the potential of Beasley and would like to sign him long-term.

The Denver Nuggets have exercised the 20-21 option on the rookie contract of Michael Porter Jr.

The contract is worth approximately $3.5 million.

Porter missed the entire 18-19 season as he recovered from a back injury.

The Denver Nuggets have agreed to sign Elijah Millsap to a training camp deal.

Millsap is the brother of Paul Millsap.

Millsap went undrafted in 2010 and has played in the NBA, G League and overseas.

While Jerami Grant will primarily be Paul Millsap's backup at power forward, the Denver Nuggets could use him at center.

“I think Jerami Grant can play (center),” Malone said from Nuggets training camp. “Jerami’s ability to screen and roll, finish around the basket, catch passes in traffic and make plays from that, he’s really, really good in that regard. I think you can play him at (power forward), you can play him at (center). Same thing with Paul.”

The presence of Grant at center could minimize the minutes of Mason Plumlee. Denver also wants to find minutes for Michael Porter Jr.

“He’s good,” Jokic said. “Sometimes he surprises me with how athletic he is.”

The Denver Nuggets have signed Jorge Gutierrez to a training camp deal, according to Chris Dempsey of Altitude Sports.

Gutierrez last appeared in the NBA in 2015.
