Devin Booker Calls Breakout Expectations 'Good Pressure To Have'

Oct 29, 2016 10:49 AM

Devin Booker was asked about the pressure that may come with being voted the player most likely to breakout in a survey of NBA general managers.

"Good pressure to have," said Booker. "Those are the brains of basketball so for them to predict that, it’s an honor but we’ve only played one game this season so it doesn’t mean anything until I go out there and perform. I’m not worried about it, I’m worried about getting wins and whatever comes with that comes with that."

Booker was the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky by the Phoenix Suns and was an NBA All-Rookie First Team selection.

Booker was one of the youngest players in his class and turns 20 on Oct. 30th.

Suns Offer Ronnie Price Role As Assistant Coach

Oct 29, 2016 10:42 AM

Ronnie Price has been opened a job by Earl Watson to join the Phoenix Suns as an assistant coach.

Price signed a two-year deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder in August but was released before the start of the regular season.

"Just come," Watson said. "We need your presence. You wanna do front office work? You wanna do scouting? You wanna work with a player? Just take a trip. Come have dinner with me one time. I’ll never let you leave. That was the sales pitch."

Price is 33 and wants to continue his playing career.

"Ronnie Price is not open to the idea," Watson smiled. "He’s too competitive. I gotta call him every Sunday."

The Phoenix Suns don't currently have interest in trading away Eric Bledsoe.

Bledsoe is coming back from a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Suns To Use Brandon Knight As 6th Man

Oct 4, 2016 11:36 AM

The Phoenix Suns will bring Brandon Knight off the bench as their sixth man this season with Eric Bledsoe and Devin Booker starting at the guard positions.

Knight has started 315 of 328 career games.

"Brandon Knight is not a bench player," said Earl Watson. "He's a starter in this league. He's sacrificed the most for our group. He took it like the pro he is because he understands the opportunity that we have to be special. Do players like coming off the bench? No, and we embrace that. That's the inner-competitive nature that we need."

Knight declined to talk about Watson's announcement on Monday.

"I knew at one point in my career I'd be a starter," Booker said. "I didn't know it'd be this soon but I have put in that work to be one."
