Delon Wright visited specialist Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery on Wednesday in New York. After consultation with Williams, it was decided no surgery is required at this time.

Wright will continue his rehabilitation with team medical officials. There is no timetable for Wright’s return, but updates will be provided when appropriate.

Wright’s right shoulder was dislocated in the second quarter of a game at New Orleans on Nov. 15th. He had surgery on the same shoulder in August, 2016 after sustaining an injury during an NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas.

DeMar DeRozan and Karl-Anthony Towns have been named the NBA's Players of the Week.

DeRozan averaged 26.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists and shot .573 (43-for-75) from the field during four appearances as Toronto won a season-high four consecutive games. All four wins came against opponents with a winning record, including a 129-113 road victory against the Western Conference leading Houston Rockets. 

Towns posted averages of 20.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in leading Minnesota to a 3-1 week, which included a three-game winning streak that featured wins at Utah, vs. San Antonio and at Dallas. Towns shot 55.4% (31-of-56) from the floor, including 9-of-16 from three-point range, during the four-game stretch.

Test results confirmed Delon Wright sustained an injury consistent with a dislocated right shoulder.

The injury occurred in the second quarter of Toronto’s game November 15 at New Orleans. Wright had surgery on the same shoulder Aug. 1, 2016 following an NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas.

Wright will travel with the team to New York City next week for further consultation with Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery.
