The Portland Trail Blazers had interest in trading for Dillon Brooks before acquiring Larry Nance Jr. last week.

The Blazers sent out Derrick Jones Jr. and a protected first round pick for Nance.

It us unknown what the Memphis Grizzlies could have sought in return for Brooks. Brooks signed a three-year, $35 million extension with the Grizzlies in 2020.

The Memphis Grizzlies have not asked Juancho Hernangomez to report or take a physical after his trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Grizzlies similarly did not ask Rajon Rondo to report and he has subsequently been bought out.

Hernangomez has two seasons remaining on his deal at $12.8 million, but hte final season is not fully guaranteed. 

Hernangomez averaged 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 17.3 minutes over 52 games last season with the Wolves. 

The Memphis Grizzlies and veteran point guard Rajon Rondo have reached agreement on a buyout. Memphis will waive Rondo and he'll become an unrestricted free agent upon clearing waivers.

Upon clearing waivers, the Los Angles Lakers are the frontrunners to sign Rondo. 2021-22 will be Rondo's 16th NBA season. He played a big part in the Lakers winning the 2020 NBA Finals.

The Grizzlies acquired Rondo in a trade where they sent Eric Bledsoe to the LA Clippers for Rondo, Patrick Beverley and Daniel Oturu. Memphis subsequently traded Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez.

Memphis will still need to waive or trade at least three more players to get into regular season roster compliance.

The Memphis Grizzlies have waived Sean McDermott in order to complete their trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves of Patrick Beverley for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez.

McDermott (6-6, 195) appeared in 18 games off the bench for the Grizzlies as a rookie last season and averaged 2.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 8.8 minutes. Undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft out of Butler University, the 24-year-old native of Anderson, Ind., also competed in six games for the NBA G League’s Memphis Hustle.

The Memphis Grizzlies have a roster logjam that will need resolved, sooner rather than later. The Grizzlies will need to waive or trade another player just to complete the 2-for-1 trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves of Patrick Beverley for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez. And even then, Memphis will still need to waive to trade two more players to get into regular season roster compliance.

Because of the tight roster constraints both Rajon Rondo and Sam Merrill aren't expected to remain with the Grizzlies. Either player could be waived (either through straight waivers or via a buyout) or traded away.

Memphis acquired Rondo, along with Beverley and Daniel Oturu from the LA Clippers for Eric Bledsoe. Merrill was acquired in exchange for Grayson Allen in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Memphis currently stands at the offseason maximum of 20 players. The Grizzlies have 18 players signed to standard contracts and two players signed to Two-Way deals. Of the standard contracts, only one deal is non-guaranteed. That leaves Memphis with two guaranteed contracts over the regular season maximum of 15. And that's before the trade is completed with Minnesota.

The Memphis Grizzlies are flipping newly acquired guard Patrick Beverley to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez. Memphis had Beverley for less than a day before moving him to Minnesota.

Beverley replaces Ricky Rubio as the veteran point guard on the Wolves roster. Minnesota is hopeful of making a climb into playoff contention and Beverley should help bolster those hopes.

The Grizzlies now have 18 players on guaranteed contracts, after they completed a second trade in a matter of days. Hernangomez is currently recovering from a shoulder injury suffered with the Spanish national team. When healthy, he'll add some additional frontcourt depth for Memphis.

Jarrett Culver hasn't panned out as hoped for after being a high lottery pick. It's unclear if he'll stick with the Grizzlies, who have a crowded backcourt.

The Memphis Grizzlies are "open-minded" about how Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu might fit on their roster following their acquisition of the trio from the Los Angeles Clippers. Memphis has 16 players on guaranteed contracts and will be open to a trade.

Both Beverley ($14.3 million) and Rondo ($7.5 million) are on expiring contracts for the 20-21 season.

The Grizzlies similarly acquired Andre Iguodala from the Golden State Warriors in 2019 and he never played for the team as he was traded to the Miami Heat later that season.

The Memphis Grizzlies are trading guard Eric Bledsoe to the Los Angeles Clippers for guards Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and center Daniel Oturu.

Memphis had acquired Bledsoe earlier this offseason in a three-team trade with the New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets. The Grizzlies also acquired Steven Adams and the draft rights to Ziaire Williams in the deal. The Pelicans acquired Jonas Valanciunas, Devonte Graham (via sign-and-trade) and the draft rights to Trey Murphy III. Charlotte acquired Wesley Iwundu and a first round pick from New Orleans.

Beverley had played for the Clippers since 2017, when he was acquired in a trade that sent Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets. Rondo was traded to the Clippers from the Atlanta Hawks at the 2021 trade deadline. Oturu was drafted by the Clippers at the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Memphis Grizzlies have signed Killian Tillie to a Two-Way contract. 

Tillie (6-10, 220), who has averaged 14.5 points in 22.4 minutes through Memphis’ first two games of NBA Summer League 2021 in Las Vegas, appeared in 18 games (one start) as a rookie for the Grizzlies last season and averaged 3.2 points and 1.3 rebounds in 10.1 minutes. The 23-year-old signed his first two-way contract with the team on Nov. 24, 2020, after going unselected in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Justise Winslow has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Winslow has an opportunity to start for the Clippers with Kawhi Leonard recovering from a torn ACL.

Winslow has been a productive, multi-dimensional player when healthy. Winslow appeared in just 27 combined games over the past two seasons.
