Cavs Interested In Re-Signing Caris LeVert

Mar 22, 2023 8:22 AM

When the Cleveland Cavaliers traded for Caris LeVert ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline, it wasn't just to aid in a playoff push for that season. The Cavs traded for LeVert with intentions of keeping him Cleveland long-term.

Despite opportunities to trade LeVert ahead of this season's trade deadline, Cleveland held onto the wing scorer. Now, with LeVert set to become an unrestricted free agent, the Cavaliers would like to re-sign him to a multi-year deal.

Playing in a more high-powered lineup, LeVert has seen his shots drop, but his efficiency rise. LeVert is averaging 11.9 points, his lowest since his rookie season, but LeVert is shooting a career-best 37.6% on three-pointers. He's also adding a solid 3.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 30 minutes per game, mostly off the Cavs bench.

Cavs Hope Jarrett Allen Can Return Next Week

Mar 18, 2023 11:32 AM

Jarrett Allen has missed the Cleveland Cavaliers last four games with a right eye contusion. Allen is closing in on a return, as Cleveland hopes their starting center can be back for at least one game in a two-game set in Brooklyn next week.

This is the second straight season the Cavs have lost Allen to a late-season injury. Last year, Allen missed Cleveland's last 18 regular season games, and the Cavaliers first game in the Play-In Tournament. He returned for Cleveland's second game in the Play-In Tournament, but the Cavs fell to the Atlanta Hawks.

Unlike last season, where Allen's injury was more serious and the Cavs didn't have as much depth, Cleveland has held on without their big man. The Cavaliers are 3-1 without Allen during this stretch that he's been out.
