Bones Hyland is one of the players most likely to get traded before the upcoming deadline, sources told Marc Stein of Substack.

The Nuggets are looking for a defensive option with size in return for Hyland.

The Timberwolves have been linked with a move for Hyland, with Tim Connelly originally having drafted Hyland in 2021. 

The Denver Nuggets have been discussing trades for Bones Hyland. The Minnesota Timberwolves are on team that is interested in the second-year guard.

Hyland has been a mainstay in Denver's rotation as their backup point guard behind Jamal Murray. However, the Nuggets have increasingly turned to Bruce Brown to play key minutes when Murray is off the floor, including starting when Murray misses games.

Hyland is scoring 12.3 points in 19.9 minutes per game this season. He's improved his three-point shooting this year and is up to 37.9% on 5.9 three-point attempts per game.

When he led the Nuggets front office, Wolves president of basketball operations leader Tim Connelly originally drafted Hyland with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Denver Nuggets have gauged the trade value of Bones Hyland, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

Hyland has occasionally clashed with Michael Malone and that has been a factor in Denver's dialogue.

The Nuggets are also concerned about their ability to afford to pay both Hyland on his next contract as well as Bruce Brown.

The Nuggets have expressed an interest in a defensive-minded frontcourt player plus a first round pick for Hyland.

Tim Connelly drafted Hyland while with the Nuggets and continues to be a supporter in his current position with the Minnesota Timberwolves. 

Michael Malone missed the Denver Nuggets' 122-113 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday after entering the NBA's health and safety protocols.

David Adelman replaced Malone on the Nuggets' sideline.

"Everyone will step up. Different roles, but same expectations as if he's here.

"That's where Coach has been so good over the years -- there's an expectation of how we prepare, how we go about our business, and we'll try to do that for him tonight," said Adelman after the game. 

Nikola Jokic missed the Denver Nuggets road win over the LA Clippers due to a sore right wrist. However, the injury is not considered to be serious.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone said the team chose to sit Jokic to let his wrist "calm down". Malone did say that the injury has "been bothering (Jokic) for a while".

Jokic has missed four games for Denver this season. During those games, the Nuggets have gone 2-2 without the two-time MVP. On the season, Jokic is waging a third consecutive MVP campaign by averaging 24.9 points, 11 rebounds and 9.7 assists, while shooting 61.8% from the field.
