Gordon, Sampson Could Reunite With Bucks

May 30, 2008 11:06 AM

Indiana guard Eric Gordon and former Hoosiers' Coach Kelvin Sampson could reunite in the NBA with the Bucks, according to The Indianapolis Star.

Milwaukee holds the eighth pick in June's NBA Draft, and Sampson is now an assistant with the franchise.

"We had a real good relationship," Gordon said Thursday afternoon. "After all the stuff I've been through in college with Illinois and Indiana and all that and for me to play for him my first year of college, we got pretty close."

"It'd be neat, but there's a lot of other good coaches out there. I don't want to just be specific on playing for him."

Gordon has been projected to go anywhere from the fifth to eighth pick, with RealGM's latest Mock Draft listing him as the seventh selection by the Clippers.

Villanueva Knows Trade Is Possibility

May 24, 2008 8:56 AM

Bucks' forward Charlie Villanueva understands that there is a possibility the team will trade him this offseason, according to The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"There are going to be some changes; it's a no-brainer," Villanueva said in a phone interview with the Journal-Sentinel. "I'm starting to hear the same rumors I heard when I was in Toronto. I can't control that."

He was traded from the Raptors to the Bucks two summers ago in exchange for point guard T.J. Ford.

Milwaukee has a new GM in John Hammond and a new coach in Scott Skiles, and changes appear inevitable after a dismal season.

"It's not the easiest feeling, but I'm more prepared for it now," Villanueva said. "Is it realistic I'll be back? I don't know. There are a lot of uncertainties."

Are Bucks Looking To Deal Redd And Villanueva?

May 21, 2008 4:37 PM

Several NBA executives have hinted that the Bucks are trying to gauge the interest in both Michael Redd and Charlie Villanueva, according to The Journal Times.

Bucks' General mManager John Hammond admitted to The Journal Times that he's looking to upgrade at the small forward position, and both Redd and Villanueva seem to have garnered the most interest from opposing teams.

The only thing scaring teams away from a deal with Milwaukee is the over-sized contract of Redd.

Bucks May Trade Pick

May 20, 2008 2:01 AM

As Milwaukee tries to get back into the playoffs, trading their lottery pick may become a possibility, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is reporting.

We're open to anything," GM John Hammond said. "And we should be. Don't you think?"

The Bucks currently sit at position 7 ahead of the NBA Draft lottery, which takes place tonight ahead of the Pistons-Celtics' game 1 clash.

Hammond said he was not opposed to trading first-round draft choices.

"With our situation and where we're at as an organization today, I don't think we can be opposed to anything," he said. "We have to be open to any or all discussions. When we say we're going to explore all possibilities to improve this roster, you would have to be open-minded to anything, including maybe even including the draft pick."
