Shai Gilgeous-Alexander distanced himself from the expectations of replacing Russell Westbrook's production next season.
"I am not Russell Westbrook. We don't have the same name, the same body type, nothing like that. So I'm going to try to be myself and be the best me," said Gilgeous-Alexander.
Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 10.8 points and 3.3 in his rookie season.
He also discussed being mentored by Chris Paul, adding that he's already learning from the veteran point guard.
"Some of the things I like to keep a secret. I've learned a lot from him in terms of thinking the game, angles, things like that. He's obviously a really good player. He's been a really good player for a really long time, and a guy that I looked up to growing up. I'll continue to learn from him as long as I get to."
Brian Windhorst, Royce Young and Tim MacMahon discussed how the Oklahoma City Thunder plan to forward with Chris Paul on "The Jump."
Windhorst and Young thought that Sam Presti is looking for a first-round pick in return for Paul.
"Here's what executives expect to happen: they expect the Thunder to put out a message that we're not looking to trade Chris Paul...We want him to work with our young guys. Because they don't want anybody to think they're panic-trying to trade him, and they want to hope that somebody has something happen where they need Chris Paul," said Windhorst.
Young added that he thinks the Thunder would likely hold onto Paul rather than giving up a pick in a potential deal.
