Germany Rules Out Serious Injury For Franz Wagner

Aug 26, 2023 9:03 PM

Franz Wagner turned his left ankle in Germany's World Cup opening victory over Japan. German team doctor, Oliver Putz, said the team ruled out any serious injuries after examining Wagner.

"Nothing is broken, torn, or anything like this; things that would end the FIBA World Cup for him," Putz said. "Franz feels better this morning than yesterday. We did another MRI this morning. But, the problem is that we don't have the imaging yet, so we can't say exactly what's hurt yet."

NBPA Denounces Magic Donation To Ron DeSantis PAC

Aug 3, 2023 11:21 PM

The National Basketball Players Association issued the following statement regarding the recent political donations made by the Orlando Magic organization to Ron DeSantis' political action committee:

“A political contribution from the Orlando Magic is alarming given recent comments and policies of its beneficiary.

"NBA governors, players and personnel have the right to express their personal political views, including through donations and statements. However, if contributions are made on behalf of an entire team, using money earned through the labor of its employees, it is incumbent upon the team governors to consider the diverse values and perspectives of staff and players.

"The Magic’s donation does not represent player support for the recipient.”
