Batum To Participate In FIBA World Cup For France

Nicolas Batum will play for France this summer in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Batum has played international basketball for his native France since he was a teenager, but had been contemplating skipping the World Cup this summer to rest.

Batum and France won the European Championship last summer.

The Portland Trail Blazers have parted ways with Director of NBA Scouting Mike Born.

Born was hired by the Blazers as a scout in 2004 and received a promotion in 2007 from Kevin Pritchard.

Olshey's front office now includes two assistant GMs who were hired by Cho -- Bill Branch and Steve Rosenberry -- and Buchanan, as well Assistant Director of Scouting/Salary Cap Analyst Joe Cronin, a scouting staff and an analytics team.

Olshey: LaMarcus Aldridge Is Blazers' No. 1 Priority

The Portland Trail Blazers will strongly prioritize keeping LaMarcus Aldridge with the franchise long-term.

"Everybody, including LaMarcus knows, he’s the No. 1 priority in the organization," Neil Olshey said. "The biggest thing is LaMarcus wants to be here and we want him here."

Aldridge had the best season of his NBA career and helped lead the Blazers to the Western Conference semifinals.

Mo Williams To Opt Out Of 14-15 Season On Contract

Mo Williams will decline the player option on the second and final season of his contract for 2014-15.

Williams served as an integral part of the Portland Trail Blazers' rotation this season, averaging 9.7 points and 4.3 assists.

"It ended up being a really great situation for me," Williams said of playing for the Blazers. "And hopefully it works out. Hopefully the brasses up top come together and I'm here for a long time."

Williams said he is searching for a multi-year contract.

Terry Stotts, Blazers Near Deal On Contract Extension

The Portland Trail Blazers and Terry Stotts are nearing agreement on a contract extension.

The Blazers hold an option on the third and final season of Stotts' contract for 14-15, but that will likely be torn up with a new deal.

Stotts helped transform the Blazers with a 21-game regular-season improvement (54-28) and a seven-game first-round playoff series victory over the Houston Rockets.

Stotts was an assistant coach on the Dallas Mavericks' 2011 championship team.

Williams is bothered by a groin injury.

Williams is averaging 7.4 points on 37 percent shooting 23.4 minutes per game during the postseason.

Blazers Discover Snake In Locker Room Before Game 2

The Portland Trail Blazers discovered a snake in the pregame locker room before Game 2 at the San Antonio Spurs.

The snake was inside the locker of Thomas Robinson.

"It’s bizarre to have a venomous snake in your locker room," Terry Stotts said. "I don’t know if it’s happened before."
